Queens University ABSN Program

U.S.A. North Carolina

Since there are not many recent posts about Queens' accelerated BSN program, are there any current students or grads who can give their perspective?

I am applying for Summer 2016 and would love to hear what people think!

Otherwise, is anyone else applying for next year as well?

Has any received their financial aid information or a username and password to log into their account?

Suggestions on where to go to get vaccinations and physical done? Also, does anyone know the costs?

you can go to queens health center to get vaccines and i believe a physical can be done there too. prices are much cheaper as well!!! i am getting my hep b there on monday! hope this helps!

Awesome! Thank you!

Would anyone be interested in starting/joining a Facebook group?

I'm extremely interested in starting a FB group! I have asked the program about it multiple times since admission, especially to reach out to others about living situations.

Let's get it started! My name is Leah Huntsman. I can get one going and everybody can send their names on here to be added.

My name is Anna Zeng! My profile picture is with the Old Well at Chapel Hill!

I'll add you Anna Zeng! The name of the group is Queens ABSN 2017. My husband had to help me haha. I haven't made groups before. I guess you guys can add yourselves to it..?

Hi guys! I'm interested in applying to Queens ABSN program for the start date of may 2017. I was wondering if you guys could expand a bit on what your experience has been thus far in the program- what is your schedule like, how many classes, how many hours do you spend outside of class on school work? Also, what were your stats when you got in? I have a 3.5 right now, but a 4.0 in my pre-reqs. I'll be graduating this spring with my BSW. I'm contemplating retaking one course that I did not do too well in, to bring my gpa up higher, but wasn't sure if that would really be worth it or not. Finally, where do you all live, and how much is rent in the area?! Thanks so much!!

Hi mandalynne85, I am applying to the ABSN at Queens for summer 2017 as well. I actually started a thread. Here is the link: https://allnurses.com/pre-nursing-student/queens-university-summer-1070168.html I applied to the school as a transfer student, but I am waiting on my transcripts to arrive and to hear whether or not I got in since you can't apply to the ABSN until you are accepted as a degree seeking student at Queens. I am a little nervous as advising has told me it's very competitive and the admissions process is cut and dry. All the nursing committee looks at is prerequisite GPA and cumulative GPA. My cumulative GPA is a 3.39 and my prerequisite GPA is a 3.4. I have a BS in Biology. I'm willing to do the traditional route if offered the opporunity. Have you applied to Queens yet? Have you completed all of your prerequisite courses?

Hey everyone! I have applied for Queen's 2017 ABSN program. Just waiting to see whether I get in or not. I was wondering if some of you could answer some questions for me.

1. Did any of you who were accepted receive any merit scholarships from Queen's?

2. How long after the application deadline did you find out if you were accepted or not?

Thanks!
