Since there are not many recent posts about Queens' Accelerated BSN program, are there any current students or grads who can give their perspective?
I am applying for Summer 2016 and would love to hear what people think!
Otherwise, is anyone else applying for next year as well?
Hi Arn29! I was accepted as well! I am still waiting to hear back from other programs that I applied to. I haven't fully decided on whether I will attend Queens, but I have accepted my seat. I won't hear back from my top choice until 3/10, and the deadline to let Queens know is 3/2, so I figured accepting my seat was the smartest decision for now. Congrats on your acceptance!
Question for you guys who are currently Queens ABSN students, or those who recently graduated... did any of you do the QuantiFERON Gold Blood Test in lieu of a two step TB test? I figured I would do that to save some time since my physicial is at the very end of March and paperwork is due 4/15. Do I have to do the blood test once or twice? I wasn't sure if you had to have your blood drawn twice since the two step TB is done twice.
Hi! I am currently in the ABSN program at Queens and will graduate next month. I think they're changing things a little regarding courses taken over the semester, but I felt as if the summer was a big adjustment period and the fall semester was even more difficult with the courses (pharm, Med Surg, Peds/OB, informatics, and mental health). The spring semester is joyous compared to the fall and summer. A lot of concepts and details come together for many students in the spring semester during Med Surg clinicals. It will be a year that requires devout studying and brings on stress, but it is well worth it!
I am also waitlisted. Queens is not my first choice as I am actually trying to do an accelerated grad entry NP program, so I'm not too bummed. But was interested in an ABSN to save money and Charlotte is close to my boyfriend. Oh well, I guess we will all see!
Where is the accelerated entry NP program located?
Hello, just curious what is the distribution of males and females in the Queens nursing class? Out of about 50 students, how many male students does Queens tend to accept for their ABSN program? I am applying for the Summer 2018 entry term, but have not found the thread for that year yet. Thanks!

hlw712, I went back through some of my emails before I applied, and read where one advisor at Queens told me that students are told of their application status within 6 weeks of the application deadline... so probably mid March. The wait is terrible! I'm counting down the days!
