This trick does still work for NYS. Just put all of your information as if you were registering for an nclex exam. Put all of your card info with a WRONG expiration date or CCV code so that you don't risk any money. Then once you complete that page and click next. It'll take you to the next page to confirm. Once you confirm it'll take you to the next page. On that page if it says invalid card (fail) and if it says that you can't currently register at this time due to an open registration (pass)!
Exactly. Yet I'm so wrong for saying this. I actually would like to talk to the ones who supposedly got charged and passed and I would also like to know which location they took their exam. I have yet to meet one and I believe they changed the trick so that you have to use invalid ccv or expiration date in order to do it correctly. Just saying.
We just don't want incorrect information to be perpetuated. If you want to see people who have been charged read the NCLEX forum. They didn't change the "trick" to get more money, they are trying to patch the "trick" which is why it went from being super easy to difficult & risky.
On top of that you have stated no facts. Just the continuation of, "I'm right because I say so!"

Thank you so much for posting this! I just wish I had seen it before I spent the $200 re-registering. I don't feel at all like I passed and after that I started sobbing uncontrollably. I should have stuck to my guns and not given in to the PVT trick. I took my exam yesterday (June 8, 2015) and have been checking the Virginia BON religiously all day. It hasn't even been 24 hours and I'm freaking out. I only had 75 questions and that's where a lot of my anxiety has come from I think. Does anyone know if Virginia has their results up on the BON website within that 48 hour window? They don't do the unofficial results either and I might lose my mind.

There are about 982,310,629 threads on this topic. And in these threads, people WERE charged the $200 and still passed. Just because you haven't seen any of these threads or won't bother looking for them doesn't mean those people aren't out there.
My or should I say OUR experiences are not false. When we all tried the trick it worked. So just because you think different DOES NOT mean that I'm going to sit here and lie and say that it didn't work for all the people that I know who have graduated these past few years. Thank you! =) #LifeGoesOn

My older sisters, born in the '60s, did not get put in corificeats when they were infants. They are still alive today. That does not negate the fact that corificeats save lives, and NOT using a corificeat is dangerous.
My friend's child, who was breastfed until 18 months, had 4 ear infections in the first year. That does not negate the fact that breastfeeding prevents ear infections, and infants who are breastfed get fewer ear infections.

Okay so since you read all these threads that you're assuming I have not came accross them myself please tell me where they all took their exams?
That's great that it worked for you & your friends. But that doesn't mean it will work for other people. Search the forum for plenty of examples.
People take the NCLEX all over the U.S. & try the PVT all over the U.S. as well.
I didn't say this didn't happen, if you would have read my post. What I did say is that I don't believe it's 50/50. There are other blogs and webpages besides allnurses that have talked about this and have found that the trick still works. As far as this topic I am done and done with allnurses. Nothing but negativity.

When we post facts & someone posts opinion, if you think that is negativity. That's on you. The PVT is nothing but a trick that isn't suppose to happen. I could flip a coin & if I said heads I passed. Then I find out I passed, was the coin right? That is the same thing. They are all tricks. Except the coin is cheaper.

They took their test at hundreds of different testing sites across the country. It doesn't matter where they took the test. It's a nation wide test.
