PVT Works, Lower Kaplan Scores, Encouragement for all-my story!

Posted

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to tell everyone that THEY CAN DO IT!!!!!! I took my NCLEX on June 28th and just found out this morning that I passed. I look back over the last four years and can't believe I did it and I'm here now. Got to a day I thought may never come. I just want to give everyone some hope. First off the pearson vue trick worked for me!!!!

I studied for a solid month...every single day. Did question after question, book after book, took Kaplan and did 100% of the qbank, all the question trainers, watched the content videos, took lots of notes, etc. But my kaplan scores were mediocre and I got discouraged from my teachers who kept saying you should have a 65% consistently before you take the NCLEX. I got nervous up until the moment of the test about whether I was ready but I kinda figured there was nothing more I could do to study. I had kinda reached my plateau. Let's face it...no one is ever going to be READY for the NCLEX. My computer shut off in 75 questions which I had hoped and prayed would happen all along and once it did I was totally not ready because I felt like I had done awful on the questions. Felt like I had nothing that I had studied. Lots of random drugs, diseases, diet questions, 7 SATA, 1 drag and drop, 1 chart exhibit, and 1 math. I did have a lot of priority which was a good thing for me. ANYWAY....I just want to tell you what my kaplan scores are to ease the minds of those who aren't getting all 65s before they test.

Diagnostic Exam 61%

QT 1- 51%

QT 2- 63%

QT 3- 52%

QT 4- 51%

QT 5- 61%

Readiness Test 66%

So YOU CAN DO IT!!! And you know what helped the most...PRAYER. I couldn't have done it without the prayers and support from everyone in my life!! God is good!!!

Good luck to everyone :) Listen to the song "Keep Your Head Up"-Andy Grammer...it will cheer you up!!!

I think you will be okay!! You still have a few weeks so just dedicate all the time you can to practicing!! Your scores are similar to mine!! Qbank is great...I can't remember exactly how many there were but just try and do as much as possible. I would just do like 10 or 20 here and there so it didn't get totally overwhelming doing a million at once. When you do the qbank and go in to create a test, there is a category on the left hand side tool bar that says sample NCLEX tests. Those are great...I recommend those...and they count in to the amount of qbank questions!! Also there is a alternative answer quiz that is part of kaplan...it allows you to practice all the types of questions that aren't multiple choice!! I hope this helps!! You will do great...be positive!! Let us know how you do!!

Congrats! This is so good to hear. I am getting about the same Qbank scores. Thank you for your inspiration!

Congratulations!

Thanks so much for sharing. I have been so scared but I refuse to be scared anymore. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Our God is a faithful God and He can do exceedingly, abundantly, above what we can dream or think of.

He will see us through.

Congrats once again

Did you feel the Kaplan questions were harder than the actual NCLEX questions? Thanks and congrats!

Thanks so much again for the encouragement! I just did QT 5 this morning and got 57 again, im going to do QT 6 today and some QBank. I still have to go through the explanations for all the Q Trainers, do you think that will help? Ill try and do that this weekend while Im away along with QBanks!

Yes and no. I thought some of Kaplan's questions were harder but I also felt like since I had random stuff on the NCLEX that was hard for me. But since I shut off at 75 I must have done well even though the stuff was hard. So just try not to stress. Just use all the resources available to you. Learn how to answer those questions and do the best you can!!

Definitely going through rationales for all Kaplan questions is helpful!!! I highly recommend that. Because even if you are getting stuff wrong by reviewing the rationale you are seeing why you got it wrong and what to do differently next time. You are learning. Write down things you don't know and read through it over and over so next time you will know it!

:yeah:congratualtions! am gonna take mine soon hope to share the same fate... to be an RN after the exam...:)

I have been doing Q Bank and my scores are not so great I ranged 48-65 % so far on 50 question tests. Doing about 200 a day and Still have about 600 left and the QT#7. My test is next friday the 15th!!! Should i be super worried with these scores?
