Hi guys. Recently took the CA nclex pn 2015 for the first time on January 31, 2015. I did not feel confident walking out the test center at all. I got all the 205 questions. After the test, everything just seemed like a blur, I really thought I failed. My confidence is down in the dumps right now. I got 35+ sata, 3 math, 3 drag and drop, lots of priority, who would you see first, and lots of those conference questions, lots of meds. Has anybody felt like this too? :'( Its been a few days since the test and I told myself that I would not try the trick and just wait for the official result. But unfortunately im from CA and CA does not participate with quick results. Who has the guts to wait for 3+ weeks for the official results for this kind of test?! The anxiety was killing me. So i gave in and tried the "PV Trick" that i've been reading and hearing everywhere. I used a valid debit card that i dont use that only has few bucks in it. Hit submit then BAM, "The payment was declined. Reason: Attempt to connect to issuing bank is unsuccessful. Please reenter a different card or try again later". My heart sank. Obviously I didnt get the 'good pop-up' that everyone seems to be getting. Payment declined, meaning that the computer knows that I failed and is trying to reschedule my test but there is something wrong with the card. Has anybody got a pop up like this too? Like got a pop up like this and actually passed? Any insight or info would be helpful guys. Now I know that this post is one of the hundred PVT posted here daily and some people find it annoying, but sorry guys I just had to post this so i can get some answers and calm my nerves down. Thanks guys.
Thank you, do u know someone who took Nclex with 205 questions and bad pop but pass the test?
It depends upon how soon after the exam that the PVT was attempted. If the PVT was tried right afterward, a flip of results is possible. After about 24 hours, the chance of a flipped result (say from fail to pass) is about nil. You went 205 questions, your pass/fail result will be determined by the difficulty level of your last/final question. If question 205 is above passing standard, you'll pass. If it's at or below, you'll fail.
Im glad to hear from some recent testers!!! I too am from CA took my nclex in Oregon on 2/16/15 and my stomach was seriously in knots for hours afterwards. I could not even try to have a good time, so I quietly snuck off by myself and did the PVT. I was absolutely shocked and quite honestly surprised seeing the pop up say..."our records indicate you have already taken this exam another one cannot be set up at this time" SO STOKED
I did the pvt right after i got out of the testing center lol! so i dont know if that affects the accuracy of the pvt or it could give me false pvt results
Your mistake in doing the PVT does not affect accuracy; the results aren't "false". You might not know what you're doing, but thankfully Pearson Vue does
As has been explained, the pop up you get immediately after finishing the exam is worthless. The one you get 24+ hours later is the one that matters.

congrats on passing the first of two scorings (that's all you know at this point, as in your anticpation to find out something, you did the PVT much too early to be valid).
If you're lucky, your second score will also be a pass, and your being "stoked" will not be a waste
How did I do the PVT trick too early?? I waited several hours before the initial attempt ....then again at 24hrs, 48hrs, and 72hrs so that's too early for the trick??? I think not lol
Actually, I think so....and this is why: as you said, you did it "several hours" after completion. Not 24. The thing is, if your first score was a 'fail', your premature PVT would have resulted in your payment being accepted, and it's non-refundable. You would have been crushed that you failed, but after 24 hours would have discovered that you actually passed. Why lose money AND torture oneself? Yet people seem to keep doing just that. Just answered a post exactly like this earlier today, in which a premature PVT play resulted in a loss of money AND useless torture.
Doesn't matter how many times you do it after 24 hours (doing it at 48, then 72 hours was meaningless; it does not change once the score is completed, ALWAYS within the first 24 hours). Kinda like the definition of insanity quote, attributed to Einstein: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome each time."
And believe me, LOTS of insanity on these boards
At any rate,as you are now saying that you did it DAYS after you took the test in addition to the premature one.....you obviously did pass, so congrats! :)
What on earth are you talking about?? Several hours is not too early to do PVT the suggested time to wait is an hour. Also if you use a card with little or no funds on it you won't be charged if you did fail (or pass but still got charged) it doesn't take a lot of effort to use your brain

The idea of the adaptive testing is that it'll determine your ability and at some point, all questions will be "hard" as they're right at your knowledge or test taking ability limit. What the NCLEX is attempting to find is whether or not you are sufficiently knowledgeable to be a safe beginner. I might regard the level of question that measures that to be fairly easy, others may find that question to be too difficult. In any event, it'll feel like the hardest exam you've likely taken to date because that's what it's designed to do.
