Providence New Grad TIPS June 2023

Updated:   Published

Has anybody else applied for Providence Holy Cross in Mission Hills for June 2023 cohort?

I interviewed 03/23 and they said in ~2weeks we will hear back. I wanted to start this thread to share our process through this ?

Does anyone know yet about the uniform/ scrub situation?

For LCOM, we can wear anything appropriate, nothing too baggy or too tight, navy blue encouraged

Did you get this from your recruiter? I finished my preboarding checklist for LCOM and haven't heard back from anyone yet regarding scrubs or anything else.

For St. Joseph's, my manager said "the only requirement other than that they appear professional in appearance is that for nurses to wear the color royal blue".

I've learned this from word of mouth going around. I would recommend reaching out to your unit manager about what's acceptable and not.

Does anybody know if the scheduling is flexible for new grad residency program for St. Jude? I heard that it was self scheduling but unsure if this applies to new grad?

Anything helps ?

I'm unsure about it but I would think/believe the first 3 months when we are with our preceptors, we will have to follow their schedule and attend classes offered for the first year, I would think they are days we can't  move around since it's set for groups of people. After those 3 months I am still unsure if we can still self schedule, I would guess yes because we will be on our own with management checking in on us and with scheduled classes.

Do you happen to know if the classes is conducted when we're working or separate days?

Honestly I am unsure about how the classes are divided up with time on the floor. I don't want to mislead anyone here.

Thank you for the reply ?

I know that after the orientation on the 1st day, we will then have orientation with our core leader. Have you been in touch with your unit manager? My manager told me to come to the unit after orientation on the first day, and my schedule would be created then. I don't know if any of this helps.

Are the shifts at St. Jude's from 6:30-6:30 or 7:30-7:30?

I haven't been in touch with my unit manager. Should I e-mail her?
