  6. Accepted At Ccbc Catonsville

My experience with Dalton was UNBEARABLE! I didn't have her as a teacher, as she "blocked" me from going into A&P1 at CCBC. She claimed I didn't have the proper Biology, and that I would "Fail miserably." How supportive. Anyhow, I am now acce...

  8. What md hospitals will pay my loans back???

All I can suggest is calling around to see what each hospital is offering in terms of "packages." I don't think my hospital pays off loans..just pays your tuition if you work there while in school.
  9. Asn Bsn

At the hospital where I work, the pay is the same. An RN is an RN no matter how you got there. However, if you're interested in management, you need a BSN>
  10. Villa Julie College?

So glad they didn't accept me 2 years ago!! fate is a funny thing, isn't it?!?!?
  11. Accepted At Ccbc Catonsville

I'll chime in on the Essex/Catonsville debate. When I was applying for the program, my advisor (who was based on the Catonsville Campus but floats to Essex as well) told me my odds were better at getting in at Catonsville. I ended up applying/getti...
  12. Community college - RN program

Jules, Re-take your sciences at a community college to raise them! I also know some community colleges who actually reward "points" for people who have been turned away a semester; so when you reapply, you have a better chance getting in (Harford CC ...
  13. A CNA is basically a patient care assistant (changes incontinent pade, dresses the patient, helps w/AM & PM care, gets vitals, etc.) An NST draws blood, puts in and takes out IV's and catheters, basically everything except pass meds. And also as...
  14. I have been there. It is so frustrating, such a catch-22. "You need experience, but we're not going to give it to you!" I have my CNA and am in the pre-clinical phase of nursing school. The problem now, is many hospitals want you to get your NST ce...
  15. CNA ? Is it really gross and why do we have to?

    so nicely said!
  16. CNA ? Is it really gross and why do we have to?

I am a CNA also in Nursing School. I work in a very busy hospital, and let me tell you...the RN's do just as much "icky" stuff as I do! It may be gut check time for you!!!

  20. Question on how to get relicensed in MD as a CNA

My only suggestion would be to go to the MBON website and check it out. I know they have an entire page dedicated to CNA certification req's. Good luck!
  21. Hi everyone! I'm new here, and really glad I found this site. My questions is this..I have my heart set on a certain hospital, and have even looked at a few others surrounding my location. I received my CNA in December, I already have a Bachelor's...
  22. Intro

Hi everyone. I'm a 30 y/o mom of 1 from Baltimore, in my pre-clinicals Rn program. Last semester, I got my CNA license so that I can begin working in a hospital. Well, that's not working out the way I had hoped! Nobody seems to want to hire a CNA...
  23. What are your worst fears?

I fear , at this point, getting a job! I have my CNA, and everyone's hiring *experience only* a lot of my neighboring hospitals are hiring only experienced LPN & RN's as well. Sucha catch-22...everyone needs CNA, LPN'S & RN's, but noone wan...
  24. New Here- CCBC Student- Questions

They definitely weigh different htings. What did she have the C in? If it was a science, yeah, forget it! But, I have a friend who had 2 C's this past semester and got in! One was in Speech, the other in Intro to Sociology. BUT her sciences were...
