1. What is the nurse to patient ratio in your facility?

   I'm starting in the ICU and the ratio is 1:2. But the norm throughtout the hospital is 1:5-6. Whoever said they had 13-15 patients, I would be terrified!!!

   I just graduated last week and will be starting in the ICU soon!! I was so excited to be hired directly into the ICU, since so many people told me they wouldn't hire GN's. I also looked into peds and the ER, but neither of those hire GN's in my area....

   What exactly does a CNA do on a med/surge floor? I know they do vitals, bathing, etc. What else are they responsible for? And what is the difference between a CNA and a Patient Care Tech, other than being certified? Thanks :)
