What is the difference between Comfort Measures Only, Hospice, DNR...What is the exact difference? ( I know some, but I'll appreciate if someone can clearly explain it.) Thanks a lot in advance.

If a hospice patient is allergic to Morphine Sulfate, can she still receive Roxanol for her dyspnea? Should I clarify with the MD? Pt. is actively dying.

i came in for the morning shift, pt Respiration 44, pulse 144, clammy, the MD ordered it anyway...pt expired 4 hours after. i went home and can't stop thinking about it.

I wonder, is there any new drug that doesn't require you to check PT/INR that often? It's tough to call that MD in the middle of the night to report an abnormal INR.

Because some a.m. shift did not report it right away to the doctor.

Just wondering, do you have to wait till the 23rd. patient before asking a question on pt.#4?
