Is it okay to thank & express your appreciation to your favorite MD? Very kind to patient & very approachable and always available no matter what time you call either 1 am or 1 pm.

Certainly. Everyone likes to know they've done a good job or are appreciated. Even doctors.

Sure. If the doc has been helpful or supportive. I had a medical director once who always helped us out with the toughest patients. He got more than one plateful of cookies as a thank you.

Definitely. Who doesn't like to be thanked? Working in the hospital, on the night shift, there were plenty of snarky MD's. There was one moonlighter who would come to the floor, ask appropriate questions, do what needed to be done, and all without an attitude. I looked forward to talking with him because he loved to teach. I made sure to tell him how superior his attitude was compared to his co-workers, and how appreciated it was.

Thanksgiving is coming up and it would be a good time to send him a thank you card for the holiday. Like others have said, everyone likes a little acknowledgement & appreciation. Just tell him like you told us!
Just FYI - March 30 is National Doctor's Day. And Sept 21 was National Tradesmen Day - I called my plumber and heating/air conditioner contractor. Both of those guys were so appreciative of my calls. On Monday (10/15) I had to have my plumber out for a sudden need (not emeregency). As soon as he was through the door, he thanked me for my phone call!!!
