Abnormal or Lifespan Psyche online?
Wow! That's one vote for each> :) That's pretty much where I'm at...they are both interesting to me. I'll keep my ears open to see if either get any more votes. Thank you for your input.

Abnormal or Lifespan Psyche online?
I'm still waffling between the two for spring online at Ivy Tech. Has anyone done either of these online and what can you recommend? They are both equally interesting subjects to me. At this point I'm just looking to have a schedule filler that I can pass with an A with minimal effort and least book expense. I'm one co-req away from being done, just have to take the TEAS and wait for April. I need another class to take that is a prereq for BSN programs just in case I'm forced to go that route. Hope everyone is having a great semester. :)

book alternatives: international or one edition sooner?
Thanks so much for your reply. I will buy the fourth from a current student I found on Craigslist. I would definitely rather help her out. :)

book alternatives: international or one edition sooner?
They just bumped up the edition on Saladin, and no one is selling the new one. I can get the 4th edition (three years old) for about a hundred and fifty LESS than the bookstore. Has ANYONE done AnP with a former edition or the international version? The bookstore is a ripoff, and I don't want to pay full price if I can help it.

book alternatives: international or one edition sooner?
I'm buying books for fall, and I seem to be finding that every class wants the most recent edition of the book. It'll save me hundreds if I purchase the fourth edition of Saladin's AnP book instead of the fifth. I also am finding the "international" edition of the fifth edition on ebay. It says the content is the same and that only the isbn, end of chapter assignments and cover photo are different. Has anyone found that saving money is this manner is worth it? I can't imagine AnP changing too much between 2005 and 2009. But maybe I'm wrong?

ANP101 online...how important is the CD with text?
Class starts next week, and I'm still looking online for the best deal on a book/the labpaq. I found lots of books, most state "no cd". Is this just a study guide? Do you think it's imperative to have, or if I have good reading retention I would be fine with just the book? Also: I found a labpaq for sale, but the eye, brain and skeleton are not included. Is this something that can be found online, or do you really think the guts are worth paying the extra hundred bucks? Sorry to be so noobish about this, but it's my first class and I'm nervous. Also? I need to get my book asap since the class starts in a week. :)

Books/lab kit costs 2x what class cost? Is that right?
For sure. I'm so glad a friend directed me to this forum. And thanks again for the advice and help, everyone.

ANP 101 online
Thanks for that. I need the encouragement. I am an actor and am used to memorizing everything, so I'd hoped that it would be a lot of memorization. After the July fourth weekend, I won't be working outside the home the remainder of the summer, so I should have a lot more time to devote to the latter half of the class. Thank you again. And it sounds like your lab kit might be just what I need. I'm going to figure out how to message you privately after this, so I don't pollute the thread with the details. :)

Books/lab kit costs 2x what class cost? Is that right?
Did you do it online as well? I wonder if the lab kits are the same campus wide, or if Lafayette calls for a different kit? WthHeck is this all so complicated? And here I was thinking I was so darn smart. If I can determine if your lab kit is what I need (not sure how to verify that), I would be interested in purchasing it from you. I did go on craigslist and email a few sellers. And I found the book on Amazon for less than fifty bucks, so that's a bonus. It's this lab kit that has me confused. How exactly you do a lab online. Grrr. Thanks for your patience with such a noob. :)

Books/lab kit costs 2x what class cost? Is that right?
Eek! No kidding. Yeah, I am doing this class at Lafayette, because it was the only one I could get fit in this summer, but intend to do everything else at Lawrence campus. I guess I'll be on Craiglist *next* semester selling this book. :)

These are all very helpful ideas. Thank you so much, guys. And it does help that you use the book for the second semester. :)

ANP 101 online
You sound pretty calm...am I wrong for freaking out after reading somewhere on here that 90% of the summer ANP101 online people fail? I've not taken any courses yet, and I'm beginning to hyperventilate reading this board. I have a BS, so I've done college coursework. I just hate to set myself up for failure, but need to take and pass 101 to be on track for an April 10 application.

Books/lab kit costs 2x what class cost? Is that right?
So, I am taking my first pre-nursing course this summer, ANP101 through W. Lafayette Ivy Tech online. As I read here, I'm beginning to think I messed up and am going to set myself up to fail. The follett website is telling me that between the book and lab kit, I'm going to pay another $600...for a class that cost $355?? Is this right? Is there a better or cheaper way to get these materials? This degree is about to become cost prohibitive if I can't figure out how to do this easier. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
