I'm buying books for fall, and I seem to be finding that every class wants the most recent edition of the book. It'll save me hundreds if I purchase the fourth edition of Saladin's AnP book instead of the fifth. I also am finding the "international" edition of the fifth edition on ebay. It says the content is the same and that only the isbn, end of chapter assignments and cover photo are different. Has anyone found that saving money is this manner is worth it? I can't imagine AnP changing too much between 2005 and 2009. But maybe I'm wrong?

I got the international edition for a different class, and found it to be the same, including diagrams, etc. However, I think I would be scared to do it with anatomy. You may try Craigslist when summer classes are over. = )
They just bumped up the edition on Saladin, and no one is selling the new one. I can get the 4th edition (three years old) for about a hundred and fifty LESS than the bookstore. Has ANYONE done AnP with a former edition or the international version? The bookstore is a ripoff, and I don't want to pay full price if I can help it.

Get the 4th edition!!! I have that same edition from previous semesters and I am retaking the course to get a better grade. I emailed my prof and he said that its fine to keep the old and not buy the new one. You really don't even use it anyway. I only highlighted text. In 101 you have no homework and work directly out of the outline and lab book. In 102 you have homework, but its all out of the lab book. We very rarely cracked open the text and all the info should be the same.
Thanks so much for your reply. I will buy the fourth from a current student I found on Craigslist. I would definitely rather help her out. :)
