Good Morning Allnurses Community, I wanted to post this thread, because it would be interesting to find out how our Nursing and Non-Nursing community would answer this question? What is your dreams for the rest of your life? Are you living out your dream? I thought this might help some of you get some true focus on how you would like to live out the rest of your life.

I am so sorry, my prayers go out to her family and friends. I really don't know why things like this happen. Life is so unpredictable, we can go at anytime.

This is what makes allnurses.com so great! I really appreciate you posting this. I am not a Nurse, but for many years I have been thinking about going into this profession. I am an older person, so I don't know if my feet could take on this kind of work. Thanks again for posting. Carla

Shay, Wow!!! What an amazing story. As I was reading this, I felt goose bumps all over. Thank you so much for sharing this story. It's so good to hear of stories of this magitude, when I watch my local news here in California, it bring me great sorrow about the things that are happening in the world. I am so sorry to hear about your frustration! I really hope things get better for you. I want to become a Nurse. I am a older woman. I was just wondering if this will be too much for me when the time comes to go to Nursing school. I have been working as a CNA for almost 3 years. I come home so drained. I vomit and get these awful headaches the next day. I really need to see my doctor about this. I really do enjoy the patients, but the work load is impossible for two CNA on the floor. I am praying that I find a job from home, my kids need me right now. I don't get paid very much bi-weekly. I really can't even afford to put clothes on my kids back. I am a single mother who needs to take action. I will pray for you that things get better. Hang in there okay!!!

Hello! I am not an RN yet, but I am burnt out with my CNA job. This is not my dream job either. I like you would rather work on a floor that has less combative patients. I will be going to Nursing school, but I sometimes wonder if this profession is really for me. I hope and pray everything works out for you. I see a lot of Nurses who feel the same as you. Thank you all for replying to my post. I am a getting a little tried having to wait to get into Nursing school. I have to be patient with this. I am going crazy right now not being able to take any classes to get ahead with my career choice. I am so disappointed with myself. I will have to pay for my classes in the Winter and Spring. California tutition has gone up, so i will have to pay $1,055 to take the classes again. i don't get financial aid. I am so upset. I am looking for a second job to help me pay for this.

Hello Allnurses Community, I am so stressed right now. I worked so hard this past summer trying to pass Anatomy and Physiology I and II. I failed both classes. I passed the labs, but failed the lectures. I finally realized I have to take these classes alone. I am a single mom!! I really take my hat off to all those single mother and fathers that pass these classes. I just don't know how you did it. I am so upset with myself. I was suppose to start a Nursing program this April. I am suppose to have all of my classes done by march. I wanted to know if anyone knows of any online classes i can take this fall. I am not going to attend my University this fall, because Anatomy is not given until the Winter quarter and physiology is not given until the Spring and these are the last two classes i need. I am so bumed out right now. I never missed a class and sacrified so much for my family. Does anyone know of any accredited online programs that offer A and P. I have a lot of time this fall to get this done. Help!!

I just recently turned 44! I am sorry if I came across in the wrong way. I just wanted you to know that you maintaining good grades in school show great focus and determination. I admire that. I am still trying to find out if Nursing is the right career for me. I just don't know. Are you in Nursing School?

I tell my kids to focus on improving themselves, in education or whatever they decide to do. I admire people like you that have a clear focus of what they would like to do in life. I have made a lot of bad choices in my life, but I will continue to go forward. I am grateful that I am living. Thank you for replying to my post. Carla

Hello Allnurses Community, Well, today I went to the University to dropout for this fall. I didn't want to do it, but I had no choice. I have some incompleted ("I" grades) that I need to concentrate on before I can go further with my goals of becoming a BSN Nurse. I am also a single mom of eight children. My 12 and 14 year old have been giving me so many problems. I just don't know what to do. I had summer classes this passed session and I failed one of the my last classes before my Nursing program. I just couldn't concentrate. My two boys take total advantage of me, coming home at about 10pm every night. I want so bad to make a better life for us, but it seems that they just don't like to listen to my rules. I really never had any problems with the other children. I just don't know what to do. I have to finish school. My current job is not cutting it. I wanted to know if anyone knew of any online university that offer they physiology class this fall. I have to have it completed by December to make the January deadline. I have taken Anatomy, but I just need the physiology part. I need something for this fall. I really need to do this online. I am also really looking into online work. I want to work @ home for a while. Any advice anyone? Thank you Carla

ujones00, Great story! God is awesome. I am so proud of you. I am a single mother of eight. I just dropped out of my University, because I felt overwhelmed with the incomplete classes I am trying to finish. I didn't want to do it, but I had no choice. I am looking for alternatives to keep me pushing through this tough period in my life. I have only one class to go to get into Nursing School. I really need to find a physiology online class. I am also having trouble with my 14 and 12 year old sons. Both of them are have giving me problems, they have been coming home at 10pm @ night. I am a single parent and dad lives 300 miles away. Dad is suppose to take them in December, but I took him to court a fews months ago and he didn't want them. I just wanted to tell you that bit of information, because I feel the same way you felt, like a loser. I am probably way older then you are to and I feel like I will never get my life together. I don't have to much time left to get myself a career. I have been a stay at home mom for many years. I don't have much of a job history. I want to become educated. Thats enough about me!! Hello Everyone!! I am so confused. I want so bad to get in a Nursing program. I needed to pass my physiology class this summer, but I failed. I attended every session and worked hard. I passed the lab, but if you didn't passed lecture you failed the class. I completely set myself up for failure. I have been so looking forward to finishing my last class. Well, I am so upset with myself. Well anyways, I was suppose to start my program this Winter. I can still start, but I don't know where I can go to get this class done. My college is only offering this class in the Spring. I will not to be able to get in,this is the only class I need. Does anyone know if any college are offering physiology this fall. I don't know if I am to late. I am losing all hope. I live in california and most of the colleges here are shutting the doors to incoming students (Budget cuts). In the Winter and Spring quarter there will be no admissions at all. I am so disappointed in myself. I really let my problems in my life get the best of me. Can anyone offer any advice. Please!

SuesquatchRN, I am so sorry! I know how you feel. I lost both parents. My mother died just recently. I adored my Mother just like you adored your Dad. Nohika, That would be so great!! I would love to see how you are doing and maybe you can give me some study tips. I will not be getting any financial assistance this quarter, so I will only be taking one class a quarter. My physiology class will start in the spring. I have to wait that long to retake. My program both A and p taken at one school. I am so bumed. Physiology was my last class . Well I must go on. I will talk to you soon and good luck with your classes. I am taking Statistics. Carla

Good Luck to you also, you are starting @ a great age. I had so many friends in my classes this past summer that were about your age. You guys are the future. The students were so smart. I love to see so much motivation with the younger crowd. I had a great study group this session, but didn't do well in lecture. I just have to brush myself off and keep going with my head held high. HygieneQueen, Thank you so much for replying to my post and you are so right. I want to give you a little update, my daughter is out of rehab, she is doing so much better. I didn't do to well in my physiology class this summber, but I am ready to move forward again. I thank you for your replying. I can tell that you put your whole heart into your post. I thank you. I will someday be a Nurse. I have many children and many situations, but I have to keep my head high. This next year, I will have to move, because the house that I am living in out will be demolished. I have to keep pushing forward. I know what your saying though!! Life happens, it's what you do with the life you have that will make a difference. Thank you for everything I can tell you are a geniune person.

jules2980, I know what you are saying, about 60% of the class dropped, so not everyone in the 40% is going to make it. I also took Anatomy and did very well. I did well in the lab, but I will have to retake. I have to pay 1,033 dollars to retake. I will not be getting any financial aid this coming quarter. I will have to really save.
