Hello Allnurses Community,
I am so stressed right now. I worked so hard this past summer trying to pass Anatomy and Physiology I and II. I failed both classes. I passed the labs, but failed the lectures. I finally realized I have to take these classes alone. I am a single mom!! I really take my hat off to all those single mother and fathers that pass these classes. I just don't know how you did it. I am so upset with myself. I was suppose to start a Nursing program this April. I am suppose to have all of my classes done by march. I wanted to know if anyone knows of any online classes i can take this fall. I am not going to attend my University this fall, because Anatomy is not given until the Winter quarter and physiology is not given until the Spring and these are the last two classes i need. I am so bumed out right now. I never missed a class and sacrified so much for my family. Does anyone know of any accredited online programs that offer A and P. I have a lot of time this fall to get this done. Help!!

I am not sure about your plan. If you had problems passing in a structured setting, you may have a significantly more difficult time passing an online course that lacks true structure. Good luck.

Also look at your local community colleges, many of whom offer on line classes. The semester has already started, though, and that may be a problem for you.
And Gila is right, unless you have some sort of significant plan in place or if there were extenuating circumstances to your failure before...on line classes generally receive significantly less guidance and lecture time than the traditional classes. I've taken MANY on line classes (including A&P) and no matter what they say, they really are just supplemented "do it yourself" classes.
If you have to postpone your entry into nursing school...it may seem like the end of the world, but it's not. Better to understand the material in A&P, because you most certainly will need it to pass nursing school and to practice as a nurse. You are investing in your future. *It's okay to take a little more time in order to do it well.* I can't imagine how difficult it is to be a single mom; so cut yourself a little slack, be realistic in your time committments to school, and make sure your plan of study and education is reasonable.
Good luck.
Thank you all for replying to my post. I am a getting a little tried having to wait to get into Nursing school. I have to be patient with this. I am going crazy right now not being able to take any classes to get ahead with my career choice. I am so disappointed with myself. I will have to pay for my classes in the Winter and Spring. California tutition has gone up, so i will have to pay $1,055 to take the classes again. i don't get financial aid. I am so upset. I am looking for a second job to help me pay for this.

The University of New England offers an online Physiology class that can be started at any time. The total cost is around $1290, including lab fees. I also think you need to reconsider whether you want to do these classes online. Good luck with your situation.
