  5. R.N. reentry course's Atlanta

Is your license still current? If so, does Piedmont have any Nurse Intern (NG) programs? I am starting back at Northside on Monday in the NICU after being out 8 years. I interviewed for their Intern program and was hired. I do not have to do the ...

I have a friend who did it, and she said it was great. She did the clinical hours in the ER at Northside and then was hired there FT. Good luck!
  7. Any NICU info for Atlanta?

If you want a Level III in the biggest delivery hospital in the US, then Northside Hospital is it. It has an excellent reputation. I worked there in Postpartum and start on Monday in the NICU there. Other choices: Piedmont Hospital (downtown Atlanta...
  8. I start in the NICU a week from Monday. I do not need scissors or stethoscope (each bed has their own). Is there any equipment/gadget/tool I should have or buy? Also, would you recommend getting a Nursing Drug guide for my Blackberry or PDA (I have b...
  9. Thank you all for the info. I have just emailed the Clinical Education Coor (she's in charge of my Internship) to verify if I can carry my Dell Pocket PC PDA and/or my Blackberry. If so, then I will definitely download Neofax. Which other nursing s...

  12. They give you a study guide with the meds and math (has formulas and practice questions). You can use 2 nursing med books they provide and your study notes for the test. I am glad I still studied as you have about 1.5 minutes per question which wou...
  13. I start in the NICU in less than 2 weeks!

I have not worked as an RN in 8 years. I am returning to my former employer to work in the Level III NICU. Before I quit (I've been home with my triplets), I worked Mother-Baby (Postpartum) and Pediatrics. My kiddos (BBG) are former 28 weekers (1 was...

  18. Nurse Residency Programs

I am returning to work as an RN in 1 week after an 8 year hiatus. I will be on a NICU Internship for 16weeks. I have 3+ years experience (at this hospital) in Mother-Baby and Peds, but I've never worked in the NICU. They hired several of us, and I...
  19. I do not. But Childen's (Scottish Rite and Egleston) both have fantastic NICU's (my triplets were transferred there from Northside for surgery). Children's is a top-notch employer for all departments. If I had not already worked for Northside, I w...
  20. If you want women's services, you cannot beat the experience and training at Northside. It will prepare you for any other job. I had to wait about 3 months to get in the first time. Once I finally got an interview, I was hired on the spot. This time ...
  21. I start in the NICU in less than 2 weeks!

Thanks, everyone! I passed the nursing medication test today (required for pre-employment), and that was a huge relief! Now I just have 2 CBL's to finish today, and then I'm done until Orientation next Monday.
  22. Poll: What do you love about the NICU?

I love that the NICU enabled me to bring my micro-preemie triplets home when I was told it would not happen. I love that the NICU has allowed me to have 8 years of magic, fun, excitement, tears, and laughter. I love that the NICU has given me a chanc...
