I will be a new camp nurse this summer, working as the only medical professional at a Girl Scout camp for 90+ campers. I'm wondering how this works: I've seen a few posts here and there regarding standing medication orders - meds parents agree can ...
Hello all, I recently graduated from an Associate Degree Nursing program (RN) in NC. I'm wondering about how long I need to wait until I can expect to receive my ATT from the BON. I have applied/paid/been fingerprinted for months and elected to rec...
Ok...just for sheer entertainment...( I warned you, this is some silly stuff) I'll be working at a Girl Scout camp this summer, where every staff member has a camp nickname (to protect their privacy and just for fun). In the past I've had friends w...
Short version: After a HORRIBLE week, I took the NCLEX this morning and got all 265 questions. Of course (like most other first-timers) I fear I failed it. Completely. I'm exhausted - mentally, physically, emotionally - and I have to wait so long ...
I've posted this message in the nursing student forums, but since I live in NC I wanted to get NC student nurse perspectives... My grades were in on May 11. I've heard from my school's DON that our transcripts/verifications were sent to the NCBON on...
After Pearson made me wait for 45 minutes because they didn't see that I was registered (when I was)... I had all 265 questions this morning in DC...5 hours from house. Shouldn't have scheduled my exam 12 hours before I was to take it.... :trout:
Thanks for the tip... You were right. My results WERE available, despite the info sheet on "quick results" that Pearson gave me at my exam. They said not to even bother checking prior to two business days, but there my results were, at 10am on Satu...
A moderator on another thread told me to visit the the NCSBN site, where I read a bulletin that states that this rumor is NOT true. There are no instances where candidates must take the full test despite their ability level as a "control". Too bad,...
Quick results are available two BUSINESS days after the exam, not 48 hours. The difference for me is four days, as I took the exam on a Thursday. Friday, Monday are the next two business days. Sucks for me, huh?!?

I don't think it was similar to any of these. I would recommend a Mosby's book called Priortization and Delegation. That is probably your best bet. The NCLEX was unlike anything I've seen before, and I used Mosby, Kaplan, Saunders, AND ATI. ATI w...

Thanks Eric...there is a section that addresses this issue, and you are right. There are not instances when test-takers receive a certain amount of questions "randomly". Thanks for showing me where you found that info.
I've heard that same thing, but another poster here informed me that that was a rumor, and that it's not true. I'm not sure - I haven't heard from anyone who would know for sure (i.e. someone from NCLEX or Pearson). I heard that from my nursing ins...
Not exactly making me feel better.... I did stay overnight - unfortunately in a large city like DC it doesn't even matter if you know where the site is - half the battle is finding parking, and that is constantly changing. This opportunity was my onl...
I just searched the NCBSN site for info on the website and found this info: how the CAT works: 1) it measures your ability with a 95% certainty. It'll end the test whenever it reaches that mark. 2) if it never reaches that mark, you get all 265 ques...
It's not about the percentage you get right, it's about at what ability level you start getting half right and half wrong.... the point of the NCLEX is to see if your ability is above the mininum level. The questions start off easier; they get harde...
Oh - and I drove up half way last night, stayed in a hotel, and drove the rest of it this morning. The drive was the nicest part of the whole experience because I was relaxed!

Like I've read before - the number of questions is no indication of the result - I know it's hard to believe...but I'm in the same boat as you. I've heard that some people are "chosen randomly" to receive the entire test. Do you know that to be tr...
I've heard all of these logical explanations - and they make sense. I'm doubting that many people feel that mastered this exam for these reasons...however, I think that no matter how many questions you answered or how well/poorly you think you did, ...
Wolf: you might remember that my school delayed in getting our transcripts sent...this, combined with a problem with my board of nursing not entering my transcripts into the database, created a bigger problem than I expected. As I searched test site...
You received your license number? I guess that's pretty official. Here in NC you can "verify a license" online...or call in and enter the social security number without even speaking to someone. I'm not sure NC is as fast as getting the results a...
