In Texas I think for the most part the difference between an LVN and an RN is that LVN's can't make care plans, pronounce death, or push IV cardiac meds. Other than that......we assess, treat, give meds, clean wounds, start iv's, so on and so forth.....

I don't think it is unheard of. Sometimes for nights we have 1 cna to 25 beds but we all work as a team. Also, the dayshift cna's will take the v/s for us before they leave which helps out alot. If you feel unsafe then by all means bring it up to you...
