I also applied at Mercy Gilbert Med. Center for an ICU position so hopefully they'll get back to me too. We were thinking the Mesa (Superstition Springs/Augusta Ranch) area, because my in-laws are in that area and can help out with daycare :) I can...
Please help :) I was offered a position at AZ heart hospital. 12-hour nights, and everything sounds great. However, I was sorta hoping for a position at Banner Desert, because we plan on living in Mesa. Is the commute going to be crazy from Mesa...
Sorry, but I just have to vent here... :angryfire My manager (who I think is an idiot) just hired 4 new grads for full time nights. The 3 she hired a few months ago just got off orientation. We only staff 9 nurses on nights to begin with, so now the...
Can anyone give me any details on Queen Creek? I'm looking for elementary school info, housing info, commute to Mesa area, crime rate, or anything at all. I'm desperate for info. Thanks so much! ~K
I've been a nurse for three years. Two of which I was working in a coronary ICU for a 400 bed hospital. I am considering travel nursing, but was curious as to what kind of orientation you get if any? Any other helpful tips would be great. I'm looki...

I'm looking at Banner Baywood in Mesa/Chandler Regional/Mercy Gilbert. I just read an article yesterday that they are widening and adding additional lanes, but it will take like 3 years to completely. They are also hiring a sheriff and some deputie...

ugh... this is all so confusing. We currently live in Indiana, and would be traveling to Phoenix. We wanted to sell our home here though in order to travel, because I don't want to have to worry about maintenance etc from half way across the countr...

Yep that's what I meant. I had heard good things about Banner Desert Medical Center and then stumbled across the Banner Heart Institute (which is more my area). We would be living in Mesa/Queen Creek would that commute be outrageous? Are they trave...

This is so funny I just posted a thread on the CCU board complaining about this very thing. My manager just hired 4 more new grads and we have a similar police re:not ACLS certified for one yeat, not IABP certified for one year. I agree it should ...

Maybe it's our orientation then. Our new grads aren't ACLS or IABP certified for atleast one year their start date. It's just a lot of added responsibility to those of us who are certified. kwim?

Mattsmom: I couldn't pm you because your folder is too full :) Do you know what the base pay is for CHW Chandler Regional or Gilbert Mercy is? I have 3 years ICU experience and don't know what I should expect base pay wise. Do they offer weekend an...
I currently work every Fri and Sat. night. If I decide to travel are there assignments were I can have it in my contract that I will only do those two 12 hour nights? Do they pay extra for weekends?
twiceaslucky replied to twiceaslucky's topic in Travel
Where I work now has a weekend program that will pay you 8.00/hr more for commiting to every weekend. (I'm still only making 24.50/hr) I was just curious as to weather they had a Travel Baylor Program. :)

I have no problems taking a "coronary type" patient, and don't think I would have any trouble adjusting (unless they expect the RN to insert Art lines) My only fear is that I'll take an assignment and get some Neuro mess with an ICP monitor (neuro i...
I have been an ICU RN for 3 years. I'm always on time, work extra, and have always gotten good yearly reviews. My supervisor really wants me to start taking charge. We live in Indiana and I know that the pay here is probably lower than the rest of...
