He could see a dermatologist for environmental allergy screening -
testing can be done not just for latex, but for a host of other dermal irritants....
i had the same thing happen -
I am not allergic to latex at all -
and it was not the gloves,
For me it is actually particular alcohols -
Purell, some scrubs...
I can now survive using Avagard and handwashing alone - no Purell or other scrub options.
Good luck to him!
Just moved back to the city and really seeking information on OR's -
what they are like, work environment, professionalism of nurses there, etc.... -
I would so appreciate hearing from anyone working in Manhattan -
I came from upstate - so I may be spoiled with by the ambiance -
I am just a bit disappointed by initial visual:
dirty lounge, no lockers available for new employees, someone sleeping in a chair, it just felt unprofessional - but it is NYP Columbia - It has to be better than it seems...
Desperately trying to find out info about the OR"s in the city -
I just moved back to the city for a position and, unfortunately, feel I need to quickly look for a new one!!!
I live in Manhattan and would love to hear any info / opinions about the dept. heads, staff, environment, lounge/locker rooms, etc...
I am fairly new to the OR and have been struggling with moderate to severe contact dermatitis to surgical scrubbing.
I had a RAST test and am not latex allergic.
I have tried to do trials between alcohol only - and to just CHG formulas, both traditional and waterless.
I keep getting the rash and having been having to keep in under control with Protopic RX.
(i do have eczema history...)
I am hoping someone may have found some surgical scrub options that worked for them -
thanks for any advice!!!
I definitely do not want to be forced to end my new career!
I would love to hear any advice and/ or actual experience
with the Rn to BR programs at Stony Brook & Empire College.
I really want a SUNY program - and don't really know if these are respected and accepted programs across the country and with all nursing organizations.
Hello! I am planning on trying to move back to the city from upstate - and am seeking info on OR's in Manhattan, or suburbs...
I would love to hear about great teams - and negative ones too! I am a fairly new nurse with under one year OR experience - i would love to end up in a great organization. Thank you!!!
I did find it online - and it is April 10th.
Nursing and Allied health Nursing job fair -
@ the Sheraton in Braintree.
I see you are new to Boston??
How do you like it?
And - did you find a good job???
I am a new grad still!
Coincidence in regard to the earlier post...
but I am trying to relocate from upstate and am attempting to find the best hospitals in Long Island - and I would like to move right near the ocean...
Any insight would be greatly appreciated as I know close to nothing about that region. all the best!
