Coincidence in regard to the earlier post...
but I am trying to relocate from upstate and am attempting to find the best hospitals in Long Island - and I would like to move right near the ocean...
Any insight would be greatly appreciated as I know close to nothing about that region. all the best!

Good Sam in West Islip is right on the shore, you can literally see the Robert Moses causeway out the window. Southside in Bay Shore is not far from the water, ferries to Fire Island run out of Bay Shore. Southampton is out in the Hamptons, so the beach is close. Eastern Long Island is out in Greenport on the North Fork of LI. Huntington Hospital is not far from the water on the north shore of LI. You can see the water from the 5th floor windows. St Charles and Mather are in Port Jefferson, which is a north shore town on the water. These are all in Suffolk County, I don't know much about Nassau County. Anywhere on LI is not far from the beach!
