Hi everyone, Wondering if anyone here is applying or has applied for Spring 2020 at BMCC. If so, are you scheduled to take the Kaplan test already?

I believe Pre-req courses stays the same for both, the difference is for the evening, you have to have completed A&P2 and Micro already when you submit your application checklist.

hope they don't wait that long. I mean, overall shouldn't drop below min. requirement, that would mean seriously low final grades lol I'm so hoping they update. This wait is killing me lol

I can't even remember how the SATs were... Mine too, writing was extremely confusing... and I had always heard this was harder than the TEAS.. now that I took this, I definitely see it. I barely, if at all, studied when I took the teas coz of the classes I was taking when I registered to take it but even with that, it was definitely easier. Could also be that there are less num. of questions on the Kaplan so the weight distribution is very different too.. Either way, another week down.. We should be hearing hopefully by end of this to the end of next week..

    BMCC FALL 2019

Hi @Episkey, I think one of the two booklets we were given (the blue and green) had the times and day for section 1 and sections 2 for the day program. I don't have it with me now but if you can't find yours I can send a screenshot over when I get home.

Yours should be at an 87.5 I think. You mentioned above you had 3.5 and 85 on test. Should be 45 for the GPA and 42.5 for Kaplan.... You should def. get in! *crossing fingers!

Yep, that made my heart jolt but I think it's a generic one. They sent similar to students of previous semesters.. So her e-mail states it's by call. Is there any way to know the phone num they will call from? lol

    BMCC Spring 2020 Applicants

Hard to tell, last sem., someone who got a 68 on the test with a 4.0 got in for evening.. There was also someone who had a 4.0 GPA and 77 on the exam got into the day.. another who had a 4.0 GPA and 70 on Kaplan got in too.

Definitely competitive. I read somewhere here that someone for Spring 2019 program applied to the day with a 3.9 PCI and got a 69 on Kaplan didn't get in. She reapplied for night in the fall I believe was the last time I checked.

Cochran School of Nursing Spring 2020

@Mj33 just wanted to confirm, with the math for Kaplan, did you come across medical conversions? Drips, ML to L, grains, etc conversion?

    BMCC Spring 2020 Applicants

Hi @Julia Arnolds , yes, you have to be a student for one semester to apply to the program to apply. Once you are eligible and submit an application, they will schedule you in for the Kaplan. You might have to take a math class since they don't take any other transfer to the math required for the program. Good luck!

    Which courses at BMCC

True. The thing is, you won’t know which ones will be accepted at the schools you’re looking into. Take for example, I took the stat and math for health sciences at a diff. School but I had to take a similar class at BMCC because they only accept a specific math, etc. You’d really need to narrow down which schools’ accelerated program you are wanting to enter primarily and then make appointments so they can evaluate your credits. Also, if you do want to take pre reqs. At BMCC, you can go to the transfer office there, they can help see what classes are accepted in other colleges around the city. Good luck!

    CUNY City Tech Spring 2020

Hi @B20 Do you know if it's possible to apply to the program for Spring if I am a a current student at a diff. CUNY school? I had reached out to them already but was wondering while awaiting a response. Thanks! And good luck if you are applying!

    City Tech Nursing Spring 2019

Hi All, I know this is an older thread but do you know if it's possible to submit an application for the AAS RN program at CityTech without being an actual student? I do go to a CUNY School currently but just wondering if one has to be a student at City Tech to apply. Thanks for any info you can offer!

    CUNY Nursing Pre-requisites

@Jashcool I would also say since you have your Bachelors in a diff. degree, might be worth looking into the Accelerated 2nd degree to get your BS in Nursing as opposed to doing the RN. Not sure of the specifics since I am doing the RN then RN-BSN pathway but I've read that they do offer the accelerated ones for people that already have a baccalaureate.

    BMCC Fall 2019

@nr92 from what I was told by the dept., if you are applying to the night/weekend program, you need to have ENG 101, MAT 104, PSY 100, BIO 425, BIO 426, BIO 420 and either PSYCH 240 or SOC 100 completed and then, the semester after, you can go into the dept. (7th floor) to submit your checklist to be registered to take the test.
