I have the Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN, 3rd Edition and I'm having problems with the CD.
First problem is during the "study" part of the CD. I'll click on "study" and do a bunch of questions, then when I take a break I close it out, later on I open it back up and there's the option to "resume" at the question I left off on. So I click "resume", then do the first question, pick my correct answer and click "submit" and I get an error message ... something that says "script error: continue? YES or NO". It shows whether I get the answer "correct" or "incorrect", but NO rationale pops up. GRRRRRR. I realized though it only happens if I do "resume". So now I just click on "study", then chose "new session" and then just go to the question I left off on.
Second problem is the "bookmarks". I have about 100 questions that I bookmarked and yesterday I went to review them. I clicked on bookmarks and clicked on the answer I wanted. Then the rationale that popped up didn't even match the question! I went to the next question and it was the same rationale, the wrong one! What the heck?!
I hope this makes sense lol. I'm just getting so frustrated with all of this
Is anyone else having problems like this or do I just have a faulty CD? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi: I had lots of problems with my Saunders CD. Won't go into them. It was frustrating and I called Saunders and they told me it was my computer, that I didn't have enough RAM or something or other. I thought about returning it and exchanging the book and CD but it was to close to the time to take my NCLEX. The most frustrating thing about it though, was when I took the tests, I could not get the answers. But I fiddled around with it and got them. I dont remember how.
I told the people at Saunders, why can I get answers to some of the test questions and not others. Blah, blah, blah was all I got.
I would suggest you return it and get another. But still, it might pay to call them. I think I read somewhere that someone else was having problems and they helped them. I guess it depends on who you talk to. Hope you get them straightened out because I really think the content is good. Good luck.

Hmmmm...I've never had any problems w/ my Saunders CD's. I would recommend that you try reinstalling the program on your computer. Perhaps something got screwed up the first time around. If that doesn't work, contact the company and ask for a replacement CD.

I agree with Todd. None of my students ever had issues with theirs.
Thanks for the responses. After I first started having problems with it giving me the "script error", I uninstalled and reinstalled it, still gave me the same problems .... but I was able to just go to "new" study session and figured it would be no big deal. But now that I see it won't even let me review the bookmarked rationales, that's frustrating because I really need that.
I'm not sure how it would be a problem with my computer though .... I've never had any trouble with my other Saunder's CD. Maybe I just got a bad one this time, I don't know. Maybe I'll try calling and asking about it, or just take it back and get a replacement.
Thanks!

I have no advice, but a similar problem. Sometimes on mine, I will submit my answer, & then no rationale comes up at all. The other day this happened through half of my test, then all of a sudden, they started showing up. It's weird.

I had some problems with mine. But it was my kids I left it in the CD rom and they took it out, it got scratchs on it an it has never been the same. I went and bought another book.
Ok, I finally figured out the problem!
First I tried the CD on my parent's computer, just to see if maybe it was my computer. It wouldn't work on their computer either. Weird. So it must be the CD, right? I took it back to the bookstore where I bought it, they were very helpful, gave me a new book and CD. I go home, load it and STILL have the same error. Load it onto the other computer, same thing. Very weird! 2 different CDs on 2 different computers and both giving the same problems.
So today I called tech support. Very nice man helped me and after typing in the numbers from the ISBN and the number on the CD he said it's a problem with Windows XP, it doesn't always work with XP, but it works for some people with XP (so I'm figuring it's a SP2 glitch, because we have SP2 on both computers here). So he is sending me a revised version of the CD that will work with my XP .... should be here in 2-3 days. WHEW!
So if yall are having any problems with it, and you have XP, then this could be the problem ...... you can just call and they'll send out the revised version.

I've been using mine for 2yrs now with XP and have no problems. Maybe it's a batch of bad cd's out? Could you try your schools computer to see if it works?
Nevermind, I didn't see the part about the SP2. I still have the SP1 which could be the reason mine is working. Hope that you get one that works for you this time.
