Hey guys I am currently looking for a private college in the U.S that might accpet a GPA of 2.49 in there accelerated BSN program. I am a LPN I had a higher gpa in my LPN program a 3.0 to be exact but when I statred working on my BS in health service Administrations I was working over 40hours a week, so that affected me. I have great recommendations and I currently work in a Hospital in NYC as a nurse so I hope that can help me get into a BSN program. I know the chances of being accpeted is based on where u live, and I heard private schools maybe expensive but they are less competitive I don't mind paying the loans back, do any one know a accredited private school or any school that might take a 2.49 gpa and look at the fact that I have strong nursing experience in a hospital. Please let me know of. Thanks

Many nursing schools (globally) wont accept a gpa lower than a 2.75. See if you are able to do it online or something or maybe take some extra easy classes to bring that gpa up. Good Luck.

I would take a look at their nclex pass rates

type in (state name) BON, pass rates in google nad look it up

I dont know of any that would take a GPA that low especially an accelerated program. You may want to take some easy courses to raise you GPA then look for a school.

Most of ABSN schools take your previous degree's GPA as a minimum application criteria. Problem is the degree is done, so you can't retake classes to increase the GPA.

Why not look into an LPN-BSN program?

She doesn't have a degree according to her op she started a program but didn't finish. She could take another semester in her program and attempt to raise her current gpa.

Unless you have a Bachelors in another subject you won't qualify for an accelerated BSN program. Look for a LPN-BSN bridge program.

I wonder if the OP is referring to commercial (investor owned) schools when the word "private" is used. Many of them in my part of the country are more than willing to 'take a chance' on applicants with lower GPA as long as they can pay the (astronomical) tuition... have no idea how many actually graduate, but they DO get in the program.

I wanted to know what area are you by and what are the name of some schools there?

I just checked on the school I go to, and their requirements for the LPN-RN (associates degree) is a 2.5, so there is hope I suppose if you bust butt getting that average up

my school goes on a points system... you get points for GPA, points for grades in core pre-reqs, etc however if your GPA is below you are automatically disqualified.
