President Biden thread

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

We could go tit for tat all day about "violent rhetoric", memes and images.    Why don't we just call a truce on that and admit both sides are guilty on both a personal level and by the populace.

The above memes are disturbing but I don't believe made or re-tweeted by politicians but private citizens and I would guess some of the were taken off the sites they were posted.  But still, free speech and all.

I believe Biden had what was thought to be an assignation attempt thwarted in 2020, and who knows how many death threats.  There's been breeches.  How many football games could you hear chants of "Let's Go Brandon" (you know what I mean).  How many times have politicians said he hates America and is destroying our country?

I hope Taylor Swift has good security after Trump posted that he hates her.

But Trump had two assignation attempts so we must endure the blame game because that's more horrific.

You guys can carry on and part of me is pleased that suddenly people are concerned about rhetoric, and democrats have been called upon to self-reflect about their language of threats and fascism.  It's a trap.  I think the right is justified in asking for this.  Although I still will maintain as they do this, they stop and reflect on themselves, and hold their own leaders and press to the same standard they are demanding of the left.

In the meantime.   I'll be checking out.  I'm going to Italy at the end of the month and taking some time for my mental health and some reflection.

I suspect that "those on the left" already reflect  on their own violent rhetoric, which is why you don't see more of it. I don't recall anyone here denying the incidents attributed to "the "left" actually happened. My point has been that they are not of equal malice, intent or consequences. Warning =\= incitement.

I understand your centrist take on issues, even when I don't agree with it. I don't agree with your dismissal of the issue as "both sides do it".

Picture this: I take some ibuprofen from facility stock when my arthritis kicks up and I have a 6am med pass to finish. Meanwhile, a nurse in ICU is chewing a used fentanyl patch while on duty because her workplace is toxic and understaffed.

Are those the same? Both of us are using drugs that don't belong to us. Both of us are self-medicating for pain. Both are doing it while on duty. Do you see any difference?

Of course they matter but some of the examples below apparently do not matter?

I was unaware of the hogtied Biden post. I'm willing to concede that this is absolutely inappropriate.

I wonder if you find these images just as disturbing? (Biden didn't post these however there was very little outrage when they were posted). One complete stage play depicting Trump being beaten and stabbed.

Perhaps if someone tries to hogtie Biden twice in 9 weeks we can have a conversation?

And when another manAlaska makes numerous threats to 3/6  supreme court justices, we can discuss more?

Nope.

Nonev of those are Biden or Harris or a prominent political figure making in inappropriate, reckless or dangerous remarks.

Trump is unfit for office and what falls out of his mouth on the regular is a symptom of his dangerous mental illness that makes him unfit.  Republicans have difficultly admitting that.

Yeah. That's what I thought.

Democrats have a hard time admitting to anything. Due to their own standards and ridiculous ideology, they cannot even conceded that their volatile irresponsible comments may have contributed to the attempted assination attempt on Trump's life in less than 9 weeks.  To do so they would have to hold themselfs to the same standard. The entire Democrat narrative is based on chastising Trump and Republicans and trying to attach everything they can on what Trump says and assigning guilt by association. Even in the real threat of political violence from both sides, to take accountability for their own violent speech woud crumble their entire platform. They don't care about potential victims, Sacrificing peoples safety is an acceptable loss as long as they stop Trump. Victims are only cared about when the democrats can exploit them.

Did you notice that even the far left msm and even democrats do not echo your speculative diagnosis of mental illness? Not to the degree you do and most certainly not as precise of a diagnosis of "Frontal lobe dementia ".

Thank you.

It's not about who does it more or less it's about calling out all violent/volitile/inflammatory comments and recognizing the potential consequences of our speech even if it is free.

There is already a vast amount of right wing rhetoric discussed in these threads. I offer the otherside. Makes it appear that I'm say democrats are worse than republicans. I am not. I'm trying to say all volatile rhetoric is risky and should be evaluated equally. It is in my experience that left rhetoric rarely recieved scrutiny of isn't discussed.at all.  Even after 2 assination attemps in less than 9 months.

More projection.

There is no real "both sides" comparison when it comes to violence and violent rhetoric seems imagery.  One side talks about revolution and civil war and their legislators wear assault rifle lapel pins.  The other side advocates for improvements to our gun laws.

No, I didn't notice that.  I have heard health professionals speak of the symptoms of dementia evident in Trump's public speech.

https://news.cornell.edu/media-relations/tip-sheets/cornell-expert-says-trumps-frequent-phonemic-paraphasia-are-signs-early

"Objectively, Donald Trump has a documented history of lying that is so marked as to be considered 'pathological.' Politicians often say untrue things, but the frequency of Trump's lying is so extreme as to meet criteria for sociopathic behavior, since he tells falsehoods across all life domains, from his personal relationships to business dealings and finally to politics. Recently, several clinicians have noted the ways he has begun to mistake words, lose his train of thought, confuse Biden with Obama, particularly during long rallies held in the evening. There are examples of phonemic paraphasia – swapping parts of words for others that sound similar; these are signs of early dementia, even though they are intermittent."

Trump is unwell and unfit for the presidency.  That has nothing to do with President Biden and this thread is about Biden.

Democrats and progressive journalists rarely bother to wonder why so many Americans are willing to believe the things Yrump says. If they bothered to ask, they might discover that the false claims that Russian "collusion" with Trump led to his election in 2016, bred skepticism and distrust in American institutions. The same could be said about the false claim that the story about Hunter Biden's laptop in the 2020 election was Russian disinformation.

These same progressive journalist and democrats refuse to aknowledge their own violent rhetoric against Trump and his supporters. A man who was nearly killed twice in 9 moths The first time the story was played down and misrepresented as per the "glass shard". Now they refuse to own their own rhetoric may have radicalized two deranged men into trying to murder Trump. Some even suggesting it's Trump's own fault people tried to kill him. Which is like saying a woman deserved to be raped because she was drinking and wearing provocative clothing.

This is blatantly obvious. If you wonder why people are willing to believe Trump, it's not that he is an intelligent charismatic person, it the daily demonstrated hypocrisy from the left.

In a way, the left msm and democrats do the work for him. By saying nothing and never holding themself to their own standards. Deception is deception and when one sees deceptive behavior over and over, this lessens skepticism.

So yes. Trump lies but the ease to believe him is partially to blame on democrats.

Yes. The left makes it easier.

2020 riots due to an unarmed blk man killed at the hands of a police officer, causing billions of dollars in damages and the loss of small businesses and ironically blk lives, were either over looked or in some cases promoted by democrats.  Including Harris that used her platform to fundraiser for the bail of violent rioters. These police who were asulted at these riots were also vilified and no one cared about the abuse they endured. The left condidered these riots to be "mostly peacful".Of course the police on Jan. 6 were made into idols.

Where citizens were mandated with masks and vaccines and were confined to their homes, those who objected were vilified. Then saw thousands of people in the streets not masked and not vaccinated left free to spread the virus and destroy property. Then thousands on non vaccinated people crossing the border and apparently that wasn't a pandemic concern.

Dems were either silent or supportive.

Trump "incited " a mob to attack the capital by telling his supporters to "peacfully and patriotically " make their voices heard because he believed the 2020 election was stolen. This riot lasted 4 hrs and only one person died, a unarmed white woman shot by a police officer.

Most recently 2 deranged radicalized men attempted to assinate a former president and a presidential candidate twice in 9 weeks The dems denounced the attempts but did not acknowledging their own volatile rhetoric as a possible contributer. Then blamed it on Trump. For 7 years they have been saying Trump is playing a victim. However when Trump is the victim, including having a bullet grazed his ear, dems attempted to downplay 2 assination attempts. Doesn't become too hard to believe that maybe, people are out to get Trump.

There is a significant difference from a riot on the street in relation to a government building being attacked while a protected fundamental process is taking place. However the people who experienced losing their business and family member during the 2020 riots may not care about that difference.

Where there is hypocrisy there is doubt. So yes, it is partially democrats fault people are willing to believe what Trump says  As the democrats have demonstrated through their actions or inactions that they are hypocrites.

Yes. There is no both sides.

Both sides haven't had an assination attempt twice in 9 months. After the POTUS said to put "Trump in a bulleye" and other democrats calling Trump an "existential threat that needs to be eliminated".
