Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

My wife did the same but needed no stitches. It shook her up, pretty good and she was glad that she was wearing a helmet.

Anyone who rides bikes frequently will take a fall. The important thing is that he can get up and ride away or at least push the bike until the shock is over. The big danger here is going at a good clip and you run into the pile of sand deposited by the wind. Those uber narrow tires can't handle sand:(

Really? I ride bikes, mostly mountain biking. I don't know anyone who "frequently will take a fall".

I ride with a road bike twice a week. I take a tumble about every 6 months. My son is an avid rider-road, mountain, cyclecross. He has broken ribs (flail chest and pneumo) and recently his clavicle. He’s also been clipped by cars.

Now THAT's awesome....data! Riding a mountain bike is probably different from riding a bike every single day in town. There's just more exposure to other people. People can be dangerous:) Just to be on topic, Biden didn't get hurt which speaks for his physical status. He can still take a joke.

From your source:
QuoteNearly 1,000 bicyclists die and over 130,000 are injured in crashes that occur on roads in the United States every year.
Call this 133,000 total injuries/deaths. Based on an estimated U.S. population of 332,403,650 this is 1 injury/death per 2499 persons or 0.04% of the total population. I'm not sure that this is an accurate representation:

I don't know how they gather those statistics but my humble guess is that is comes from hospitals and law enforcement. For every person that had to show up in the ER or die to become a statistic, how many just hobbled home and never got to be in a data base? Now that I'm typing this, I'm wondering if urgent care centers have the same requirement burdens as hospitals? Just curious.

Anyone who rides frequently is likely to take a fall. I guess we can quibble over how the word frequently was associated in the original comment.

Toe clips? That seems like a made up excuse. No reason he should be clipped into his bike.
Glad he is active, and OK.
