Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Plenty of people left prior admin --especially being fired via Twitter, which has not occurred during the Biden presideny. Tough to be away from family and live in Washington fish bowl. Many have more visible and lucrative positions lined up.

Apparently you were immune to the spin from the NYPost...

I understand, however. As far as the Democrats go, not a lot to brag about. So, it's back to page 1 of the liberal playbook.. disparage and discredit those with opposing views.
You forgot accusing those who do not agree with them of "white nationalism, homophobia,bigot,racist......"

Also I have to wonder about this "They brought in a ton of black people generally to start without ever establishing an infrastructure to retain them or help them be successful. If there is no clear infrastructure of how to be successful, you become just as invisible in this space than you would be if you were not in it.” `
I'm not sure what they are asking here. Are they asking for special treatment on how to be successful at work because they are black?
Or is there no good program for retaining and fostering success in workers in general.
Is it a millennial and Gen Z thing? I'm of the old school, that is you want to be successful, that comes from within through hard work. I do suppose you have to have an environment in which success is possible.
I'm missing something here.
I do think that if only African Americans are the ones leaving in greater proportion of other staffers, then perhaps that should be looked at.
Government and businesses in general need to deal with "the Great Resignation", a phenomena of people leaving jobs in greater numbers than for before for a variety of reasons. The attitude is not "what can I do for the company/government" but 'what can you do for me" and if that isn't enough they quit and find an offer somewhere else.
Finally, it stands to reason that if you hired a more diverse staff, the number of staff of diversity that quit their jobs is going be diverse. Singling out one group as being high makes sense if there were a high number of them hired.
I have to wonder why anyone's skin color has to do with anything? Why does it matter? As long as there is no open discrimination, then hire the best person for the job.

I'd like to think those hired were the best person for the job.
I also do appreciate though that those that govern are representative of society at large and that all groups are included in the decision making process. For example Trump picked a Native American to run the Bureau of Indian Affairs. It matters.

Tweety, think you meant President Biden selected former N.M Representative Deb Haaland, an member of the Pueblo of Laguna Native American tribe and who served on the House Natural Resources Committee.

I'm pretty sure he was referencing Tara Sweeney
I apologize, I misspoke when I said "run the Bureau". Trump appointed a Director.
https://www.bia.gov/profile/director-bureau-indian-affairs-darryl-lacounte
According to Wikipedia "The BIA is governed by a director and overseen by the assistant secretary for Indian affairs, who answers to the secretary of the interior."
The Assistant Secretary was appointed by Biden and is also a Native American.
My point being that I appreciate that the leadership and staff of the government is diverse because our population is diverse. Trudeau in Canada got attention for being the first government to have as many women in his cabinet as men.
There is the concern that in the drive for diversity, the best qualified people might be overlooked. In the past however, I know that women were overlooked for a job "because a man has to support his family". Something I've heard in the insurance company I worked at in the late 70's. In the past because of racism, qualified African Americans have been passed over. It takes deliberate effort to get diversity. Hopefully we're past that.

We are not "past that." Look at the vitriol spewed on Brown Jackson's appointment, as any of those spreading the vitriol had any knowledge base to recommend anyone else over her. It's incredibly important that young girls grow up in a country where they can imagine that achievement for themselves. Once again, the Republicans were happy to sling their arrows but couldn't offer any alternative choice themselves. Electing a justice is still a crap shoot unless a nominee is particularly noted to be embraced by the NRA or "likes beer" and gets grouchy when he doesn't get it by 5 p.m.
