President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

You don't need clips with commentary from Fox News.  You could watch his first news conference, for example.  Flipping through a binder. seeming confused at times.  Saying on one issue "I don't know how much detail you want. Maybe I should stop."

How about when he tells reports, "I'm not supposed to be answering questions"?

Personally, I think he is suffering from dementia.  I acknowledge that could be debated.  What's remarkable is that many won't even acknowledge he is definitely in decline.  I'd bet a paycheck he won't last his term.

Yes we will see.

We won't have to wait to know that Trump will run on the issues of voter fraud and immigrants.  We won't have to wait to know that Trump's campaign will be fraught with lies and deceit.  We won't have to wait to see that Trump voters will limit their media consumption to that which is uncritical of Trump.

What we will have to wait to see is if republican led states will actually hold free and fair elections or if their elected legislators will decide what the vote totals should be. We will have to see if republicans are really going to break our republic to gain and maintain political power.

Yeah. Because voter ID is racist. Because POC couldn't possibly figure out how to get one or afford bus fair to get to the dmv office right? Or what did Biden say, Black Americans don't know how to use the internet?  Seriously?

Did you know that black Americans are one of the most vaccine hesitant groups? For good reason because of things done in the past.

So will they now have to show passports to get basic services? Essential or not? Kinda discrimatory considering they had been forced into medical procedures in the past? Or is that the okay kind of discrimination?

Hey Beerman, did you hear that Biden's Aviator glasses has a secret x-ray component so he can take pics of women?

Pretty slick for an old doddering relic, right? I think that's why it seems he's misspeaking sometimes, he's busy clicking the button taking pictures ?????

No. That's not true!! Biden likes to sniff little girls. (I don't really believe the Biden perv thing myself but I couldn't resist).

Man, you live in an alternative reality!

Are you sure you know which party is doing what?

You seem very fixated on this issue of race.

Yes, I am aware that there is an excuse for every tool used to limit voting access.  We are all aware.  The struggle against social conservatives to make voting easy and desirable for all people has been long and tedious and most of the arguments that we must listen to over and over are sophomoric and filled with deeply flawed logic.

Yeah well a few thought I was white, refered to me as white supremacists because they think all POC think alike and only have opinions that match that of democrat.  Which is kinda racist. It happens allot.

Yep it is racist.  I live in a very mixed neighborhood and we are so Democrat that we were gerrymandered out of the county to mix with Republicans until the Supreme Court intervened.  It's pretty much assumed that if you're black here you're a Democrat and that's racist.  Even the black people don't like and ridicule the black republicans.

Gay Republicans have the same issue.  The are treated like scum by other gay people, and people presume if you're gay, then you're Democrat.  That's true is an overwhelming majority but not always.

I'm pretty sure that you meant to say that they presume gays are Democrat.  That's too bad that the Republican people are treated as scum rather than the Republican ideology and political platform receiving that disdain.  Having said that, it is difficult to find common ground with someone whose voting preferences are demonstrably elevating politicians who will not legislate in their best interests.

Can you clarify which "basic services" you have to show a passport for?  Or do you mean vaccine passport and again I would like clarification as to what "basic services" you need a vaccine passport for.

There is an argument that mandatory vaccinations are discriminatory towards the unvaccinated, unfortunately a large number that happen to be black, but I don't think it's targeting them exactly.

I just went on a tour that required vaccination.  Here, to see concerts at the 20,000 seat stadium you have to be vaccinated.  These are private industries and I think they have that right.  People can still choose not to be vaccinated but they just can't go do these things.

But Biden's mandates for 100 million people targets the unvaccinated, not a race.  It will and is being challenged.

I did and changed it but probably too late.

Gay Republicans are in unique position in that they have to ignore all the discriminatory rhetoric from their party, they are excluded and not invited to events.  Evangelical Republicans think they are an abomination.  Their idea is to change the party from within, but the Log Cabin Republicans (the major gay republican organization) has been trying this since the 70's and if anything Republicans have become more hostile over time so it's a big fail.  It makes sense to them that lower taxes, strong military and less government is more important than their right to exist.

Fair enough. However, voter laws do not target any specific group either.

Please provide a case where a republican ever did that. It's in my opinion that even if a republican has an issue with gays, they would keep that very quiet. Lest the left find out  and ruin their life.

I don't think so either but to be honest, as I've admitted before I haven't studied it much.   I just don't think Republican's hearts are in the right place when all of a saddened when they lost the presidency, they decided voting laws needed change.  Our Governor here in Florida said we were the role model for the country, but still felt the need to change them.

I've lived here 30 years and we've always had to show ID to vote since I've been here.
