It depends on your health issues & how bad it is.

I know I resigned from my job in my first trimester. My morning sickness (ha, yeah right "morning") was so bad that I couldn't get out of bed some days. My epilepsy was acting up because I had to get off of my Topamax. I ended up going into labor early & put on bed rest. So it was a good thing I resigned. If you have the financial security & insurance all squared away then if you are having health issues, resign. I'm glad I did.

Have you had this discussion with your provider? He or she would be the best to advise you on your options. Also take into account things such as health care coverage and income. You have a multifactorial decision to make, and none of us can do that for you.

i am having migraine and double vision so i took one week off under FMLA,but i dont know when it going to happen again. so i am deciding to resign my job and apply after my delivery, is that a good decision? will they rehire me? should i talk to HR about my situation. please advice me?

My boss was AMAZING & I told him what was going on. I was having issues & missing a lot of work. So I told him for me & my baby's health it would be best if I just resigned. If I wanted to go back I would be able to. But the job was so stressful, I had zero orientation & not to mention it's over an hour drive one way. So I won't be be going back, plus I'm a stay at home mom now. But you really need to talk to your boss &/or HR. We can't answer these questions. Good luck.

Why not apply for FML for this condition too?

FMLA covers up to 120 days...it would be best if you went out on FMLA to retain your position especially if you will need to work post delivery. Check out short term disability if you have paid for this benefit.

Best advice:

Speak with OB provider then have conversation with HR with what your options are to retain employment + accrued benefits.

fmla is up to 12 weeks.
