I understand your frustration with your family. But using the word retarded to describe them is offensive to the mentally challenged people. Especially if you are going to be a nurse, it is important that you have the understanding and maturity in reference to peoples diseases and illnesses.[/quote']

I wish I didn't run across responses like this. There is no right to not be offended. It's her family, she can call them what she wants to.

What's really offensive is having to memorize the indications, actions, pharmacokinetics, adverse reactions, drug to drug interactions, and nursing considerations for drugs that are no longer used! Grrr. This will be the first time I plan on burning a text book after the semester ends; it's just that badly written that it's not even worth keeping as a reference.

OK, I'm not prenursing anymore, but there isn't any current threads like this other than here, so can I scream along with everyone else here too?? Thanks!

I have never in my entire life been so stressed out from school---EVER. I don't see family, friends, or even the sun. I spend all my time studying, and worrying about that last test. I feel like I forget everything I learn, no matter how much time I spent on learning it in the first place. Unlike like prerequisite classes, I always feel lost about everything. The amount of information that my brain is suppose to absorb is completely horrendous, ad I feel like I will never be able to do it. It used to be that I would spend a lot of time on studying, and do well. Now I can spend a lot of time, and still not do well. I have never ever ever been soooooo stressed out with school before in my life....

We just started the muscle tissue and muscular system last Wednesday and I already want to bang my head into a wall. The names for the muscles are ridiculous! Everyone in the class, and even the teacher, keep saying how much easier the muscle system is than the skeletal system (that we just had our practical over) and I am not finding that to be true. Muscles suck.

I don't know about your class but I found muscles WAY harder than bones.

Ok, I'm halfway through my chemistry class and am completely stressed out. I work full time and have three kids at home, a 14 year old and 4 year old twins. I am only taking one class at a time! I can't imagine what it would be like if I was doing more than that! I've read some of these posts and you guys are my hero's! I did just finish my chem mid-term and got my grade yesterday...so today is better!!!

That's exactly how I feel so far! I don't understand why the teacher keeps saying students usually find them easier! I know I sure a heck don't!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Trying to keep up while taking care of a two year old and an eleventh month old!!! So stressed, but I keep repeating "It will be worth it"!!!! Doing well in A&P so far. We just got to the muscles too. The names are a killer!

Ahhhhhh! There, I feel better now. I'm taking microbiology, microbiology lab, pathophysiology, sociology, art, nursing concepts, and developmental psychology. Plus I'm studying for the HESI admissions test. Hopefully I'll start clinicals in January. 4.0 this semester as of midterms. :). Good luck everyone!

Specializes in acute.

Why thank you. I'm very blessed to not have to work. I was a biology major last year so I crammed 1 1/2 years of prerequisites into the summer and this semester. I have a very supportive fiancé who gives me space to study and even calls out questions to me. I can't imagine how all of you who have kids and work full time do it. You guys are amazing! :yeah: The closest thing I have to a kid is our seven month old dachshund. :p

I am going to scream because the chemistry class i need is not offered next quarter!! I have to wait till the summer to take pt 1 and take pt 2 in the fall cause I missed the first sequence this fall quarter.
