Deciding on classes...what do you think?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Well I am taking a&p1 this semester. I haven't taken intro to chemistry yet, and need it as a pre req for other courses. I almost must take either a&p2 or chemistry 2 before I can apply for nursing school. SOOO for this semester should I JUST take intro to chem, or should I go ahead and take intro to chem AND A&P2 so that I don't forget all the info I've learned this semester?

Thanks!

What is your chem 2 a pre-req for?

Not knowing this, A&P 2 will be extremely beneficial for your nursing.

However, if not taking chem 2 will keep you from taking several classes, think about the time you have to devote to studying for two classes, or if you think you can handle both together.

Good luck!!!!

OR...I could couple microbiology and a&p2, but I have heard that micro is pretty hard too

Well I have to take both chem 1 and a&p1 for my nursing program (currently in a&p1). After that I have to take EITHER the second chem OR the second a&p...just one or the other. I am rather poor at math, so I just assumed I would go ahead and take a&p2. Neither are a pre req for any other class.

I would definitely take the A&P 2 then. A&P is a foundation for nursing.

Micro is time-consuming. I took Micro as an 8-week course. I did manage an A, but I was STRESSED out the whole 8 weeks. LOL

Good luck whichever you decide! :)

I would go with A&P 2.

I took A&P II and Micro together but it was a tough 13 weeks. I'm not great in math either and Chemistry has a lot of it. I have heard Chem will take a lot of time. I'd talk with fellow students and find good instructors to take from and who to avoid. Get a feel for how hard each class is at your school. Our A&P teachers are quite varied. One, you'll barely pass and another you enjoy, remember the material and get an A. It pays to talk to your fellow students.
