Cheating on final

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

So I am flabbergasted right now. First I will give the background.

This girl, I'll call her "Ann" is in my study group for GOBC1. A couple of weeks back she told me how 'smart' I was in chemistry, and bla bla bla. Well a few days after that was our 2nd test. The morning of the test "Ann" sat next to me, she never does. I thought it was fishy so I never spoke a word to her during the exam, and made sure she couldn't see my scantron. A few classmates asked me why she sat next to me, which I had no reply. After that test, our instructor emailed all of us our grade, along with a spreadsheet that would tell us what we would need to get on our Final test in order to get an A,B, C etc. So tomorrow is our final. After class today, a group of us, "Ann" included was discussing what we needed to get in order to get an A. "Ann" needed 24/40 to get a C in the course. and a few others needed 30/40 for a B and me and another girl needed 33/40 for an A. So after every started to go there separate ways, "Ann" approached me and asked me if she could copy my answers for the test tomorrow, and that she would even PAY me. I was shocked. I told her NO. she then went on with this guilt trip, that she needs to pass this class, and she doesn't want to have to repeat it. I then expanded on my NO and told her that I refuse to jeapordize my education for her, I work/study to hard, to agree to cheating and possibly face been caught and thrown out. She then was offering more money. I had to then explain that despite how much she intends to offer the answer is still NO. She left pretty upset. I am shocked that she had the nerve to ask. No real point to this just 'venting' !

Wow, so glad that she got caught! I can't imagine having a nurse take care of me who couldn't pass nursing school! Worse, what if she was taking care of my child? *shudder* You should be proud of yourself for standing up and telling the prof

I feel the same way. Why should I study my butt off just for you to cheat. I had a girl like that in my psychology class. She randomly sat by me on a test day. I could see that she was struggling during the test....lingering on questions to long. I kept my hand over my scantron and finished as quick as possible. Just upset me. And who are you cheating anyway.....yourself....don't you want to earn a grade. Thats what I have to say about cheaters.

"Ann" has some big cajones to attempt to cheat off of you AFTER you shot her down. I hope she has to retake the class. That's why I hate when teachers post grades for everyone to see.

This is one reason why I love the testing center at my school. The chances of having someone next to you taking the same test is slim, so it cuts down on the cheating. I can't believe "Ann" had the nerve to sit next to you again after you turned her down the first time. I really hope the professor approached her about this, since she obviously believes that she can get away with this kind of behavior.

Do females have "cajones" or cojones? If not, what do we call them? "Ovaryones"?:lol2:

Definitely did the right thing to turn her in - I know at my school the honour code required us to report any incidences of cheating or we were held just as responsible.

Last year a couple people cheated on an exam in my Statistics class. I notified the professor and the dean of the school and the professor was forced to make the entire class retake the test...

Same at my school. The professors make big threats about what will happen if people are caught cheating or plagiarizing and they never follow through. Many teachers claim that if you're caught cheating that they will give you an F for the course or drop you from the class. I checked with the dean of my school and he told me that under California law, the most that can happen is that you will get a 0 on that particular assignment.

I don't know how you didn't say anything. I would have. There were some people cheating on the A&P I and II lab tests, so I told my professor and he took my word for it. He spotted them out and gave them 0's for the test. Also he caught them cheating again on the final...they got 0's and had to retake it. He should have had them expelled. I only hear professors preaching that and never actually go to the dean about it and expel anyone. I don't know why they don't practice that rule.
