Hello Nursing Faculty! I'm a pre-nursing student. Right now I'm working on a research paper about the current nursing shortage for my ENG 102 class. I would really like to add some information from a nurse and/or nurse faculty member about their thoughts on the nursing shortage. If you would like to answer these questions that would be a big help, the sooner the better. I would need some basic information about you to cite in my paper. To give you an idea of the questions: 1) How has the current nursing shortage effecting you or your job? 2) What do you think can be done to resolve the nursing shortage? 3) What aspects do you think are the major cause of the nursing shortage? 4) Do you think that changing the conditions of the workplace would help the nursing shortage? 5) How do you think the nursing shortage effects patient care?

That sucks.....its definitely a conflict. I mean....as a nurse or doctor it is your duty and it should be your want to heal and help eveyone.....but then again you can understand that they have probably had situations where problems arised.....hard situation to deal with.

Just be blunt....tell the chic that she is representing herself as someone that cares more about caking makeup on then caring for patients.....you have been too nice to let it go this long lol

Its nice to find a fellow student on the same path as you. In my english class there is a lady who has been an LPN for 10 years, she's going back to get her RN. Its nice to talk to someone who has already been through some of the classes I will be going through and someone who has the experience in the field. Yeah, you feel a little more competitive with other nursing students, but thats good....pushes you to do your best and get what you want.

I saw on a website online that Grande Canyon University has no waiting list for the nursing program. A little bit more pricey...but worth it if you don't want to be waiting forever.

Im in English 102 and Math 92. Already got math 82, world religions( my required humanities course), psychology and english 101. Got straight A's....but the pressure is on myself to keep it up..

I understand your worry. There are tons of people going for their nursing at my college. I'm still taking my pre-reqs...but I heard from someone else going for nursing that its like a 2 year wait at my school. They also said that though your put on a waiting list....its really a waiting list where they pick the "best" applicants. High GPA and all that. I got straight A's and all that, but the pressure is overwhelming sometimes.....scary. I just want to be a nurse....

LOL. Well I'm still getting my pre-reqs one but I worry about the same thing sometimes. I'm really not a fainter, and usually...especially with my kids, when they get hurt, bleed, anything....I jump right to fixing them up. But I worry about it. My grandma was a surgical RN for years and told me.....everyone faints, eveyone pukes, everyone get bothered by something...but you get used to it, you adjust, and then you become the best nurse you can. Hope you don't find yourself on the floor too much. :)

I feel the same way. Why should I study my butt off just for you to cheat. I had a girl like that in my psychology class. She randomly sat by me on a test day. I could see that she was struggling during the test....lingering on questions to long. I kept my hand over my scantron and finished as quick as possible. Just upset me. And who are you cheating anyway.....yourself....don't you want to earn a grade. Thats what I have to say about cheaters.

I pay like 74 dollars per credit hour. So not too bad. It all depends on the school, area, class. Who cares anyway....either way your paying some money now or later. lol

Im in my second semester of pre-reqs. First semester went really well...straight A's. I'm in the summer semester right now so its like 5 months of work crammed into 2 months....so a little more intense but atleast I'll have some more pre-reqs out of the way. Good luck

Sounds pretty good. Just make sure that you can handle it....you would know better than us. Just make sure that its something that you can fit into your life without completely overworking yourself and letting your work or school falter. Good luck!
