Our midterm practical is in 3 weeks, if we fail it, we fail the class. SCARY!!

We have to know all the slides we have learned, every bone and every little "part" on every bone. Plus we have to know 2 different skin models, cell shape models, and an egg and a sperm model. (we just started on the bones yesterday, that's a lot to learn in 3 weeks)

To top it all off I have to work 10 extra each week this month. I'm not a happy camper!

Here's a little study tip I picked up that I am going to try.

You make your own tape. First you record a question, then pause a few seconds, and then state the answer. During the pause answer the questions to yourself.

You can wear head phones while doing housework, listen to it in your car or whatever. It's like hands free flashcards!

Happy Studying! :specs:

i find the stuff we are doing now to be so boring and difficult! atp, epithelium, diffussion. i have my lab test next friday and am so scared. identifying the different epitheliums and what their functions are and where they're found? :crying2: it's too much!! gotta go study!

congrats to all who like they're class. right now, i just find it stressful! :o

i have my lab test tomorrow at 8am. i found these website very helpful.

HELP!!! I'm so worried about this class!!! Here's where I stand.....

lecture quizzes: 96, 61, 68.5

lab qizzes: 95, 83, 60

These quizzes account for 10% of the final grade and lately I seem to be blowing them, big time. I take this class online, so all my tests and quizzes are under a tight time limit (it seems like I barely have enough time to read the questions and chose an answer).

I've made flash cards, done practice tests over and over again, but when it comes to test time I panic and blow it.

And now I'm really worried because we had our first exam over chapters 1, 2, and 3 yesterday. I don't have my grade for that one yet, but since I failed another quiz today I'm so scared!!!!

Anyone else in a shear panic?

How are the flash cards working out? I spent all day yesterday making flash cards for Chapters 1-3 of the Marieb book. Is there any special trick to them that will help me remember more?

I too had an exam today, Chapters 1-3. I don't know what I've made on it yet, but I'm anxious to see.

Miranda

I don't do flash cards but I alson had a test today on chps 1-3 in the Marieb book.

I'm so nervous to see how I did! I keep checking, but nothing is posted yet!!

i love using flashcards. the whole point is that is forces you to sit down, read the information and then write it down. by all those steps are done, i've usually ingested some of the info i need. plus, they're so small that i bring them everywhere and study. waiting in line, study. waiting at lunch, study..waiting in doctor's office, study. it works for me. then again,we'll see how my first test score is! :chuckle

I love flash cards. I really learn well with them!

Is anyone else having nightmares about bones? I've spent so much time studing them that I'm dreaming about them. LOL

I'm right there with you! The bone lab is kind of like a second home now... I'm with you on the dreaming as well. When did a condylar process become such a pleasant dream?:chuckle

Clover:)

My lab class is working on the skeletal system right now too. Someone posted this link in another thread and it's a great way to quiz yourself on the diagrams:

http://www.msjensen.gen.umn.edu/webanatomy/skeletons_skulls/default.html

It has quizzes for all of the systems actually so I would recommend bookmarking it. Hope that helps, this section is so tedious and I'm afraid that when I get to the actual quiz my mind will go blank :uhoh21:
