Hello Everyone,
I am currently a student in my undergrad majoring in Biology. Once I get out I would like to go to into Nursing School. As a Biology major at my school you have to take some Chemistry courses although I am terrible at Chemistry! (I am much better in my Biology courses and have done well in those courses making A's and B's.) Can I still be successful in Nursing School if I am terrible at Chemistry? Please Help?!!
Thank you,
Aspiring Nursing Student

Hi! I just finished up my pre-reqs this semester and have been accepted into the nursing program at my university. I was just as anxious about Chem as you are. It's not an easy class to master and the concepts you learn are important in your career. The most important and helpful tools I can give you are to keep at it, attend class, keep up with the materials, form study groups, do the homework and most importantly, never give up! You can do it! Don't let one class interrupt your dreams of becoming an RN!

I have to take chemistry too and I'm terrified!!! I hope that being a good nurse doesn't correlate to chemistry....

Yes, totally.
Chemistry was the worst of the pre-reqs for me. I barely made a B. But I NEVER used any of that crap and I graduated with my BSN a few weeks ago. ?

I do not have to take chemistry. We had a choice and I took micro and advanced physiology. I am terrible at chemistry. I took it in high school.

Good day:
Free at coursera - https://www.coursera.org/course/physicalchemistry - starts on June 2nd. If your local library offers free UniversalClass.com they have several chemistry classes; I'm currently taking Introduction to Chemistry (a foundational, very basic class) and Chemistry 101 (the next level up). UniversalClass.com classes are year round (no start, end dates).
Thank you.

Every nursing school have their set of required prerequisites. Chemistry was one of the prereques I had to take and I wasn't the best at it either. Yes, you can still be successful in NS even if your not great at Chem.
