I hope it goes by fast. I have aged 5 years in 4 weeks. It is the regular staff members that are making it extremely rough for me. 9 weeks, 9 weeks. Sounds like an eternity!!!!!
6.5 weeks until I can jimp into my Camry after work, and not have to worry about heading back in 12 hours!!
I can see it now. In 6 weeks my back seat and trunk will be full of boxes. I will turn my key in to the apartment manager. Then, I will jump into my car, blast my favorite CD's, and sing along to them while driving along the Interstate. I will call my mom and tell her, "I'm done, I'm done!!!", call my sister and girlfriends, ahhhh. I will walk through my door, cry, and hug everyone. My sister told me that mom is trying to think of something nice she can buy me, or do for me, when my assignment ends
Please tell me that 6.5 weeks is going to fly by. Conditions are getting worse. I am thisclose to saying goodbye to nursing for a while.
The OP tried to tell us the name of the hospital, but then one of the moderators went back in and edited out the name of the hospital.....:angryfire
I sure did. And as soon as this assignment is done, I will check this post and reply to any PM's, giving whoever wants the name of it. I was told not to announce any more info on here, or give anyone ANY info about the whereabouts/unit, etc, etc., for my own protection.

Hang in there! The countdown goes on! Keep looking toward the end date, marking off the calendar. Amuse yourself during stressful times by envisioning all the things you'd like to say to them at the end of the last shift (but won't because you don't burn bridges), start planning what song you are going to blast as you pull out of the parking lot the last time - "Another One Bites the Dust" perhaps? Sorry - my age is showing and not sure what current songs would fit, but I'm sure you do!
Just keep your sense of humor and don't let them have the satisfaction of getting the better of you!
I'm at one of these right now (change since I last was here - mainly one person). I've been taking my own advice and the fates just rewarded me - another coworker just asked me to trade a shift, so I don't have to work with the person my last shift here - AND I finish a day earlier! Personally (showing my age for sure here) I plan to head out of the parking garage blasting "Born to Be Wild"!

that's a hell of a good feeling isn't it. i get that urge to be gone after three months even if it's a good assignment. travelers in this prof. are a unique lot, we hate it on the one hand but one the other we love it more. kinda wierd...another wierd thing is why do the "mods" want to filter out useful information? simulair to removing a hazzard sign from the highway. i dunno.

I dunno either. I just figured out how to complete a yahoo group where we could relay this type of information to each other. Here's the site if you want to join

Let's see if this kind of referral is allowed. If it is edited out PM me.

on the positive side, know that you have the option to leave. this is one of the greatest benefit inherent as a traveler. i too have assignments where i've marked the days off a caleder...i empathize with you. keep to the fundamentals and you will be okay. leave a mark when you go, let the hr person know why your so eager to leave and won't be back, and will warn fellow travelers off...now where is this place?
