Prairie view CON Fall 2010

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi,

I applied to the CON for fall 2010 and i was wondering if there are more people out there who applied too.

I've been reading some older posts and it seems like we wont know anything regarding acceptance until late April, early May

I am already ready to hear something and have no idea how i will make it that long.

Also i heard the CON is first come first serve? Any truth in that?

I turned in my clinical application Feb 19th and the deadline was March 1st. Is that too late?

Specializes in ER, med-surg.

lmao.... where does everyone live at??

i'm on the west side of town... so i'll be using the heck out of my EZ tag on westpark tollway to 59.

Yeah, im scared of Pathophysiology.

LOL!! I live in southwest.... I will hit straight to 59 with crazy traffic to downtown... Im already going crazy thinking about it... where in the west side....????

when I didnt know about summer classes... I was thinking about taking Pathophysiology at San Jac to help myself first sem.... but I guess here we are starting nursing school early.... yayayay Im excited but scared too!!!!

I'm near alief... technically "richmond" but i'm 2 seconds away from houston, 5 min from katy, 15 from the sw. I'm in fort bend. I live between i10 and 59 about 10 minutes west of highway 6 (off westheimer) to be exact lol

I stay on the southwest side too, Stafford and 90 so i'll be taking main all the way or maybe 59. Im excited too. And sorry bout yall birthdays.

i actually ran into a girl who graduated at my job from PV CON... she had on the hoodie with CON on it, and said she graduated. She said "even though you get scared and down... IT IS POSSIBLE AND YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH!!" lol! i'm curious to how the class schedules will be.

Yeah when i went to get my flu shots, i ran into an NP who graduated from PV both and she said it was hard but what helped her was a good study group.

yeah study groups are good when they are small and effective with studying. i'm down for a study group when we figure out classes!

My friends who are currently in the program said that a lot of freshmans are strugling with health assesments so they adviced me to take this in the summer. They also said there is only one teacher for Patho and that she is GREAT!!!

And as for parking, you pay $145 for the year and then you get to park in the garage.

great... so health assessments in the summer.. great price for parking considering its up to $10 a day.

Leeleeb: good location explanation LOL u're further away from Med center....

knalimol: I live near stafford too!!!!

Yea some people who have graduated from diff nursin schools said the same thing that "its not IMPOSSIBLE you can make it, one recommendation is study groups" ... I'm surely up for study groups ones we get all the things together...

As far as schedule is concerned... you can log into the PVAMU Panthertracks (from the main page) and search for classes.... I dont think first sem classes are that bad... the only thing which is freakin me is 12hr clinical in one day straight... 7am to 7pm... besided all class timings are normall... I guess we just have to put more time outside of class for studying..

For Panthertracks pin for first time users, you will have to contact help desk and they'll email you a pin.... and sign in with that and ur ID... (That's how I did mine)... but remember you cant register yet heheheeh...

I think the parking fees for a yr is gr8.... coz ones a day is just too much....
