Prairie view CON Fall 2010

Hi,

I applied to the CON for fall 2010 and i was wondering if there are more people out there who applied too.

I've been reading some older posts and it seems like we wont know anything regarding acceptance until late April, early May

I am already ready to hear something and have no idea how i will make it that long.

Also i heard the CON is first come first serve? Any truth in that?

I turned in my clinical application Feb 19th and the deadline was March 1st. Is that too late?

Hello there.

I received my acceptance letter for PV CON today, March 16th, and it was mailed March 15. Yes- PV is first come first serve if you fit the GPA/Pass NET/Complete pre-reqs. If you have completed everything, you are considered first as compared to someone who has not finished all pre-reqs. I was waitlisted Spring 2010 because when I applied (fall 09)- i was still taking classes. Hope you have luck with your nursing education! The deadline for me to accept/decline and turn in the needed forms is april 5th, so I'm sure that is when others who were waitlisted will find out.

Really? Wow congratulations. Did u have to resend your applications or it just rolled over? I think I'll call them now and see when others should get there's. I'm done with my science pre-reqs but I'm currently taking philosophy and govt 2. Hope that doesn't get me waitliste or rejected. Do you think if I'm waitlisted they'll send that info out now?

I'm sure they send both letters within a few days of each other. When I was waitlisted, I had to resend my 'packet' to the CON (pv application, proof of application fee, transcript) but the actual nursing application itself rolls over. Be sure to constantly email Ms. ********, because I did! Don't get discouraged by her attitude because nursing school is what you want and you wanna be remembered (even if it is as the girl who kept emailing asking the dumbest questions).

So i'm going through these forms and we have till April 5th to complete them. Which isn't far away. I've already started taking my shots but my last one for Hep B is April 17th. You think that would be a problem?

Also are you CPR certified already?

I know! I've started everything today.

I think i need to get on that asap. My sis is getting married this weekend so i can't do anything until next weekend. Which CPR do we need? The one for Adult, Child, and Infant only or First Aid, Adult, child and infant?

CPR for adult, child, infant.

Hello to all my future classmates...Im excited to receive my acceptance letter as well. Im not to sure about the Hep series, does this need to be completed before April 5, 2010. Im a little lost :-)

Congrats and welcome! The hepatitis shots are a series, email the lady for further detail, but I'm sure you can start the series before april 5 and finish by enrollment.
