Prairie view CON Fall 2010

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi,

I applied to the CON for fall 2010 and i was wondering if there are more people out there who applied too.

I've been reading some older posts and it seems like we wont know anything regarding acceptance until late April, early May

I am already ready to hear something and have no idea how i will make it that long.

Also i heard the CON is first come first serve? Any truth in that?

I turned in my clinical application Feb 19th and the deadline was March 1st. Is that too late?

Congrats and welcome! The hepatitis shots are a series, email the lady for further detail, but I'm sure you can start the series before april 5 and finish by enrollment.

Hi nursuetraining28.

Congratulationns! I asked about the Hep B shots (My last one is in May) and i was told by Ms ******** that i just needed to show proof that it would be completed before schools start.

So how far along are yall with completing the packet? I got my backgruond check this morning (only took bout 20 mins but you have to pay for parking) and i went to get the drug test but they were closed for lunch so i'll try earlier tomorrow. I also registered for the CPR class @ the Redcross which i will be done with by April 4th. So i looks like i will be turning in my packet April 5th.

Also aside from CVS/Walmart anyone know where else we can take the H1N1 shots?

Knalimol (hope I spelled it right, I'm writing off memory from my phone lol),

I got H1N1 from my doctor's office, where I also got my physical exam done at.

Lol, you did spell it right. Maybe i should call my Dr's office and see if they offer it too.

Don't forget we also need the flu shot too!

So both H1N1 and flu shot too? Are you CPR certified?

I am not CPR certified. My class is today at 6pm though. And yes we need both H1N1 and flu according to the letter offering provisional acceptance.

Oh where are you taking your class at and how much?

Way out in spring for $65. Cpr-now.com is the website I think.

Oh wow. And i thought Red cross was bad. I paid $45 for it but its split for 2 days. The 29th and the 31st of March.

Hey guys... Congratulations to the ones who got accepted. I just joined & I'm in for Fall 2010 as well... working on my package... you all were talking about CPR.. I thought we could only take it from American Heart Association... please correct me...???? And, which course is it the exact name please?

Also, for the shots... vaccines... all the immunizations, we need to submit documentation for all of them...???? I'm confused what can I submit that I took Flu shot couple months ago...????

Yes, CPR has to be from the American Heart Association. Just be sure that it is an AHA course before you sign up- you can take it anywhere as long as its AHA.

From what the letter says, the vaccination form needs to be complete, they are not asking for any records. Anyone have more information on that?

Congrats on being accepted! I'm excited for the next 2 years even though it'll be hard!
