...should be a diagnosis.
So, I took mine today and I got 75 questions. And I have read a lot in this forum that this is usually a good thing...
..but I don't feel like it!!
I feel like I could only support my rationales on SOME answers. Some questions came out of left field and I just had to throw a dart since I couldn't rationalize which answer to pick..
I feel somewhat relieved that I only got 75, but mostly terrified since I don't feel I proved minimum competency.
..Also, I got a calculation question! Aren't those low-level questions? I haven't seen anyone on here that has had a calculation question..
I got tons of prioritization and delegation questions just like everyone else and about 4 or 5 select all that apply questions (which I just LOVE! not!)..
..Now I'm going nuts. I'm super tempted to go look in books to see if I got answers right or wrong..but I know I shouldn't...
..has anyone failed with 75? has anyone else gotten a calculation question?
HELP! I need all of your advice and encouragement as you have all been so helpful..
AND! does anyone know why CA does not participate in the quick results program (jerks!)?

Keep in mind that both passers and failers tend to score around 50% on the NCLEX, so you're basically set up to feel bad walking out of there. There have been many, many posters here with your same feelings and it's turned out that most of them have passed. One calculation question doesn't mean anything in regard to pass/fail. And keep away from your books! :)
Good luck on your results. Let us know what you find out.

thank you Eric. Yes, i have done a good deed by staying away from my books...i'm tempted, but i realize nothing can change now and it wont help me get my results any faster!! now its just the waiting game!

hy nurselene,
my first test, i had only 75 questions, and i failed!!!!
I had a lot of calculations and 5 select all.......
now, i'm tested yesterday and at 185 it broke off........ i had 90% delegetaiton and which client first, only one calculation..... and 3-4 med......
I'm totally confused now, and I try to get NOT CRAZY:confused:
the only thing, that we can do, now is (i hate to say that....) WAITING:chair:
i wish you luck and a bundle of nerves...

NurseLene,
did you feel Kaplan helped you? did you feel the Kaplan helped you think critically?

NurseLene, I know how you feel. I took mine today and got 75. I don't feel like I had proven myself yet.
The worst feeling I have is that none of my questions felt totally crazy and out of left field. Most of the time I could narrow it down to 2 answers.
It's going to be a loooong 48 hours

Jenn,
I think the waiting is the worst part of this whole process. I was silently begging the computer to give me more. When it turned off at 75, I almost screamed. I could narrow most down to 2 answers, except for 1 or 2. But now I'm starting to question if the rationales that I used were right. I had 2 questions on the same class of drugs, so that's probably not a good thing. I also had what felt like the exact same question reworded!! Also not a good thing...I picked different answers the second time around because I was thinking I probably got the other one wrong (why else would they be giving me the same questions twice~!). Anyway, I really hope that we both have good news in a couple of days (probably weeks for me since I am in CA!).
In the meantime, I'm trying to be a normal person. =)

Thanks Elfy.
I feel like I really took my time on that test, and if I failed, I'm not sure how to approach the second one..I felt cool, calm collected..
I knew at least 5 of those 75 questions..the rest were educated guesses.
Right now I have a big lump in my throat and chest. I feel like I can't breathe a full breath until I find out these results. Whether I passed or fail, I would just like to know how I did...waiting is the worst part.
I hope to hear good news from you in a couple of days. =)
Yes! I am trying to breathe, but I feel like I can't take a full deep breath until I know my results. Either way, I would like to know just so I can have closure already!!
Anyway, thank you for your kind words, I will definitely let you know when I get my results...
Lene, I had 3 questions on 3 different drugs, all from the same classification though! I wish I hadn't heard of any of the drugs, but I knew what class most of them were in. I think I'm down to 46 hours. I don't envy those of you out in Cali because it's just wrong how long they make you wait. Why not just offer quick results to all states? It should be all or nothing!
