PORTAGE LEARNING

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi, I wanted to create an updated thread for PORTAGE LEARNING as most are somewhat old, or sporifice-ish. Here can you please answer:

What classes you took?

How easy or hard were the courses?

Are you currently taking courses?

Are the exams proctored/webcam proctored/ or just web page locked by the software they use?

I' am currently in their Nutrition course and plan on taking the rest of my pre reqs there as the program I want to go to accepts them (they are regionally accredited).

PLEASE SHARE =]

i am glad i found this thread, i just finished statistics course through portage (thank god i found portage) i am awful in math and it alone has kept me from going forward with my nursing career for many years. i finished with a B in the course and i am about to start the A&P 1 course, i was just wondering from those that have taken this course how are the exams i am just wondering if they are done the same as the exams i took in statistics meaning the screen locks but it is not video"d and you got an hour to take them a couple of the test a little longer any feed back would be helpful. thanks in advance.

Hey! I'am thinking of taking statistics through portage as well to boost my gpa. got a c in it years ago.

So A&P 1 does not use the lockdown browser, and you get an hour for both module exams and lab exams. and 1.5 hrs for final.

Thank you so much for your reply. if you take the stats. focus on the module questions and practice them. i had to go through them and the steps the instructor gave to work the problems and i had no problems. good luck

I’m going to leave this right here.
Chegg.com is worth every penny.

What did you put on your nursing application for Portage? The app wants me to list all schools attended.

For portage I didn’t put anything I left it blank, you will have to fill that out again when you request that your transcripts are sent so it’s not really necessary right now

I didn’t list it and just submitted my transcripts to the schools, and it showed as “Geneva College” when I checked my application status.

Sorry I misunderstood you, you put Geneva college

I put Geneva college.

Can anyone tell me exactly which program (RN/ABSN) you are applying to that takes Portage? I was looking to apply to Gwynedd Mercy in Philadelphia for the ABSN, but also would like to apply to other programs. I am willing to relocate if I have to. Thanks!

Hi,

So I applied to for their ABSN program and was accepted to their Fall 20 cohort. They took my portage learning credit but I read somewhere in one of the Drexel forum that someone needed to retake Chemistry but their admission counselor said that they don't accept it, which was weird. When I applied in November, I just submitted my transcript from the portage learning site and it was received in my application status as "Geneva College". Maybe send the transcript in and see if they take it or not? I'm not sure if its a new thing or if it was just that person. I also applied to Gwynedd and they accept portage learning except for Organic Chemistry. Other schools such as Widener University, West Chester University and community colleges such as Montgomery Community College, Rowan Burlington College also took portage when I applied.

I would reconsider Portage, unless you know people have already gotten in with it. Buyer Beware.

The school that told me they would accept it are now having second thoughts.

Man, I am just seeing this. I'm guessing that I am too late to help. I'm rarely on here. Text me at nnekababy@Yahoo

I used Geneva not Portage to apply to Mercer University and South College.
