Thought this would give us all a nice visual once folks place their vote.
Currently, I am in Ortho-Neuro Med Surg.
Also, I have placed a similar poll in our Male Nursing Student Forum. That poll can be viewed here:

Good comparison threads when viewed together.
Does anyone have an idea if this is a good representative sampling of men in nursing?
Also, when I graduated men constituted approx 10% of registered nurses but it seems that it could be lower now - 5-8%? Anyone know? I've searched but can't find any good info.
Thanks - just curious,

As a sample of 1285 male nurses who have taken this poll thus far, not bad! It does provide a nice glance as to where our male nurses tend to work. It is not representative in that several categories of nursing may not be listed...and that doesn't even include sub-categories of nursing. PhillyNurseGuy is a nice example of this. But, all in all, not a bad sample of men in nursing who are members and who have taken the time to take the poll. Of course, it does not reflect any of the men who have NOT taken it or chose not to take it.
Good question, RNParamedicJohn.
And also....thank you for your service to our country, John.

Thunderwolf,
As your above post stated that 1285 men had participated in this poll.
As someone who is in the process of trying to get into Nursing School I do find the poll interesting.
Could you please post the results of this poll?? or did I miss the tally somewhere along the line??
Thank you,
As they say in Boston,

I know for a fact that at my facility the majority of male RNs are in the ICUs and the ED. I think I know of three guys who work on Med/Surg (on nightshift, anyhow).
