  1. I don't get the "labs"? You had to have lab work done by your own Family Practice DR Office? Also, someone said going through MEPS was quicker, what does that mean? I know MEPS when I went through 20 yrs ago as an enlistedman... didn't know going to your own dr was an option.?? Not yet passed NCLEX but, Army Reserve is an option soon.... can someone take the time to explain in painful detail what all of thr processes are? Thanks, Sean
  2. John, How do you get past MEPS if you are overweight?
  3. I'm in the same boat... wanna contact a recruiter but, I am over the body weight.
  4. A nursing degree and some experience can be used by the individual to what they want it to be. Get a little experience and go back to school for School Nursing specialty... all days and summers off. Go work for the local, state or federal govt in an office job that requires healthcare background. Pervert it to whatever makes you a happy and productive person.
  5. I liked the clinicals more than the classroom stuff. I got bored sitting there and just listening to someone drone on. Although, that was also the school I was going to. Clinicals were fun, talking to the patients....
  6. So, I can't or probably should not mess with the female nurses once I pass the NCLEX. Man, what did I go to nursing school for? I only did it because the clubs were getting old.
  7. Am in my transition period from LEO to nursing. Can retire in a few short years... where did the time go? Hope to pass the NCLEX, work nursing part time until retirement.
  8. Are you guys sure? On TV they all sleep together and break up and everything is fine. What world are you guys in?

I often think the OR is best... people are already out when you get them and when you leave them.
  10. I have always had a pleasant experience with the docs in my schooling (rotations). Although, I saw one "lay into" a female nurse. She stood there and took it. I just looked at the guy and thought, man, if he looks past her and says word one to me, there is going to be a serious problem on the ortho floor cause I am no way taking his mouth.... I am a student, I am not being paid and I am not taking that nonsense.
  11. Hoping to go to the OR or ER when I pass the NCLEX

Just signing on to this forum. Gearing up for the NCLEX. M-41, hoping to get out of PA with passing the NCLEX!
  14. I was accepted to a 12 month RN school, Harcum College, just outside Phila., PA. Wondering if anyone has any info in the school. I start May 2005 and finish May 2006. It is a program for people with a degree in a different field, apart from nursing. Thanks, Sean
