I was wondering if everyone's school was the same as mine. We have to get a 92% or better to get an A (75% = C). They base this on how the NCLEX exams are graded.
How does it work for you?

A = 94 - 100B = 87 - 93
C = 80 - 86
Anything lower than an 80 got you kicked out of the nursing program.
This is the exact grading scale my school uses. An a is a 94. There is no rounding off or curving of anything. (93.5 is not an A ).
Anything lower than a C+ you get kicked out, and if you are doing your pre-req's you have one more chance to take the class over......after that anything you repeat you do it elsewhere cause you are no longer welcomed. :stone

I would have made more A's using the grading system of MOST of the posters so far! :rotfl: And my A&P Instructor didn't give me credit for my .5 in his class. I had a 86.5 in A&P I and he told me there was "no rounding off" on the grading system. A&P came along and I got close to a 90, so that was an easy B compared to A&P I which for some reason I found to be more difficult than A&P II. :)
A= 90-100
B= 83-89
C= 78-82
D= 65-77
F= 0-64
Rounding is done on tenths 77.5 will be rounded to 78; 77.45 will not round to 78.
dosage calculations must be passed with 85
Laboratory evaluation has a rating scale of S+, S, S-, and U. You can only have a certain percentage below S and no U's to pass.
I guess our grading scale isn't quite as bad as others.

Ours is
93-100 A
84-92 B
75-83 C
Below 75 - fail
You can fail one class and repeat, but if you fail two you are out of the program.
And how is it that there is a 8 pt difference in Bs and Cs, but only 7 in As. Not fair!
I seriously got a 92.3 one time and got a B! Bleh!
It's not what regular colleges give, but I guess the grades are raised b/c of the NCLEX?? But it is weird to see so many different variations.
