For those of us who have already taken boards, please answer a few questions that might help ease the minds of those who are still waiting to test or for results. I know reading as much as possible about other people's experience helped me feel a little bit better while I waited.
1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX?
2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course?
3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)?
4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?
5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?
6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX?
Good luck to those who are waiting and ++++ thoughts for those who are waiting on results!!
1. how many questions did you take on nclex? 186
2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course?i used saunders a little for content and a very informative study guide review by mark klimek (borrowed from a friend). took kaplan face to face course, did 91% of qbank and 100% of the question trainer tests (scores 58%-80%)
3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? ati. received a 93% chance of passing on rn predicter test. (i feel ati was a waste of time).
4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? took the test on saturday and found out following monday around noon.
5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? certain i had failed!!!! felt like i learned nothing in school (even though i was on the dean's list every semester). i cried after i left and was in physical pain the next day from all the stress (ie, headache, neck pain, body aches). i couldn't even go to church on sunday for fear of people asking me about the test and me breaking down in front of them.
6. was this your first attempt at nclex? yes and my last. almost 2 weeks later and i still can't believe i passed!(happy dance!)
my advice is don't freak out (like i did) if you get more than 75 questions. stay focused and take the breaks when they are offered. try to get a good nights sleep. if you don't pass, don't give up!
1. how many questions did you take on nclex? i took the exam 3 times, 265 the 1st and 2nd time, 99 the 3rd time (all unsuccessful)
2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course?the 1st and 2nd time, i had kaplan's book, qbank, and question trainers, the 3rd time, i used saunders q & a, not the comprehensive, which is what i am using now.
3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? ati, and it was a waste of time and money for me.
4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?
2 days, my state participates in the quick results.
5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?
i didn't know what to think the 1st time, i was a basketcase and couldn't stop worrying and crying. the 2nd time i was sure i failed and i did. the 3rd time it shut off on 99 and i was fairly calm, and the test content actually felt good to me, so i thought i had passed, but i failed.
6. was this your first attempt at nclex?no, i have tested 3 times, and will be retesting in late sept or early oct, am following suzanne's plan. :)
