Poll for those who have already taken NCLEX..

Published

For those of us who have already taken boards, please answer a few questions that might help ease the minds of those who are still waiting to test or for results. I know reading as much as possible about other people's experience helped me feel a little bit better while I waited.

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX?

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course?

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)?

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX?

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Yes, I hope the last. All I can do is leave it in God's hands and pray.

Hello to you!! I took the NCLEX on Fri. FEB 29th. I got my results by computer Sunday March 2nd. I walked out of the testing center totally shell-shocked as I believed that I totally bombed it. But I PASSED! I took it in 75 questions. I used Saunders books and took the Kaplan course. Those QBank questions from Kaplan were very helpful as well as the disks in the back of the Saunders books. GOOD LUCK!

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? Between 168 and 170. Right at 3 hours at the keyboard.

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? I did Suzannes program which used Saunders. I also read the Kaplan review book 2x and the Mosby prioritization/delegation book 1x. I did do some questions from the NCLEX 3500 cd but mostly did Saunders CD questions. I also attended the HESI review class sponsored by my college.

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? Yes, HESI for most subjects as well as an exit test.

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? I got my results via pearson about 2 hours before the 48 hour mark. Amazingly, I got my temp license from the state of Missouri the very next day.

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? I was kinda irritated at having to answer that many questions. I thought "how crappy must I have done on the first 100 to have an additional 70". As the time went by I began to really doubt myself and kinda mentally prepared myself for failure. I didn't feel bad right after the test but as the hours clicked by, I got more anxious.

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Yes, approximately 9 weeks after graduation.
