Polk State College Fall 2017

Published

Decided to start a thread for Polk State College Fall 2017 nursing hopefuls! I'm hoping we can use this post to share our stats and anxiety during the application process. So, I'll go first. My name is Megan, I have a Bachelors degree from USF. My TEAS score is an 84, overall GPA 3.25, and prerequisite is 3.75. I'm actually retaking the teas to try to get a better score next month. Let you know how that goes. Hoping to hear back from some of you.

Is anyone else here doing transition? I feel like I might be the only one lol.

Got my acceptance letter today! Lol a day after most of you but I don't live in the area. I feel better now.

Hi everyone, so I made a facebook group. If its not allowed then ill delete it after the meeting but this way we can ask questions on everything we need to get started on before the meeting.

Polk State Nursing Fall 2017

I don't think the fb group will be a problem as long as someone isn't posting test questions and answers. When I was in LPN school my class had one. It was a good way to arrange study groups, upload review sheets and answer any questions about the program.

woohoo, I got in as well :D I dont have a facebook but I might make one just to join the group lol See you all on the 7th

Hey y'all it took me a while to post on here - but I got my letter on Friday & was accepted!! Can't wait to meet some of y'all and put names with faces!!! :)

Where area do you live in?

Hey guys serious question, I was told that if you were cpr certified your points may be positively affected although I believe to not be true. Do any of you happen to know any other factors that may contribute to our points other than our teas and gpa?

Hi, the quote below is from the Polk Nursing website:

"This system considers factors such as scores on any required admission testing, overall cumulative GPA and cumulative GPA in program courses, and obtainment of a previous college degree at the time of application"

I calculated my points based on pre-req and cumulative GPA and TEAS, since I don't have any previous degrees. As far as I know, I don't think CPR certification helps you in the admissions process, but I could be wrong. I think they would mention that somewhere so we could send In our certification along with our application.

Nope I'm doing it! see you on July 5th

Thank you Izzie I appreciate it. Thats what I knew as well :)

I am hoping to get in for January and think that a FB page would be great! Probably better if it was a private group so that whoever administrates it can monitor who joins and so forth just incase.. Study groups would be great if in case you cannot contact anyone in your class we can reach each other through face. P.S I am taking the teas test this next month, august, and september.. I DEFINITELY recommend ATI teas test book from amazon! Good luck to all!
