  1. Where area do you live in?
  2. Hey y'all it took me a while to post on here - but I got my letter on Friday & was accepted!! Can't wait to meet some of y'all and put names with faces!!! :)
  3. Yeah, I wont know until after 7 either - stuck at work!! I had 126 if my calculations are right!! I'm still freaking out hoping it's an admittance letter I'm going home to!! This might be one of the most stressful shifts of my life! lol
  4. Hi y'all!! I've been checking this page daily to see if any one has gotten their letters yet! Fingers crossed that some of us get to meet up soon!! :) & sorry to those who have checked this thinking it may be about a letter - I don't mean to psych you out!! Just want to say hi!
  5. I have done a small amount of research (haven't found much) about ITT Tech closing and how it will affect HCC. In general, HCC is trying to help ITT Tech students as best as they can, but due to different accreditations and courses the students may have a difficult time transferring anywhere, including HCC. This is not specific to the nursing program, but is in general for the institutions.. it likely does apply to the nursing program though. HCC and SPC have "rapid response teams" available for previous ITT Tech students to help with advising, financial aid, and credit evaluation. If you know anyone from ITT Tech, let them know about the help they can receive. Hopefully the students from ITT Tech can figure out a path and find a way to transfer. And hopefully we all get good news in a week or so!! Fingers crossed for us all!
  6. Hi UCFAshley... I have had issues with micro.. it does not show on my academic evaluation, but does appear on my transcript. I was told that it would count towards pre-reqs though. It will not count towards completion of pre-reqs/degree until I am admitted into the progam and have an advisor change it. But I was told that the 2010 credits will be accepted by HCC.
  7. Yes it shows up on my transcript
  8. That's confusing, I think since your MCB is a higher course it wont transfer over on it's own towards your degree reqs, but if they see it on your transcripts they can decide whether or not it can be counted for the program and go from there? Not much to do but sit and wait
  9. That's good news! When I spoke to an advisor before I was told that it wouldn't be updated until after admissions into program. Still keeping my fingers crossed for you though!
  10. No I didn't get any updates on MCB in webadvisor, but I wasn't expecting to until after decisions go out. I'm concerned about it, but I know that emailing isn't going to help anything, so I'm just trying to be patient. Also - yes, typically the numbers in the Spring applicant pool is lower than the Fall pool (this is true for most programs) BUT in the most previous year the Fall pool had less than the Spring pool. Imagine like ~250 in Spring compared to 190 for the Fall. So while it is normally the case for Spring to be lower than Fall, it is not always the case.
  11. I would agree with that 100%, Analgesic!
  12. I plan on working during the program too, but not planning on working in a hospital setting. Definitely need something less demanding while in the program. I currently work as a scribe in the ED at Florida Hospital. Not a huge fan of the ED, especially since we're not a trauma center like TGH, but it's nice to get some minor experience.
  13. Heres is the link to the page: Important Program Information - Hillsborough Community College - HCC If it doesn't work, or they delete it, then go to HCC's nursing website and the information is located under the tab "Important Program Information". Also breroses - I saw your post earlier about decision timeline. Decisions are made between 8-10 weeks from application deadline. That would be October 10th - 24th, although someone did mention earlier in this thread they were told decision would be made by October 1st. I hope this is helpful!
  14. I understand your pain, I did really good on it too!! I have no idea if it's a good indicator, but I think HCC recently put up stats on pass rates if you look at their nursing site!
  15. No worries on the questions - but your score on the TEAS does not rank you at all. As long at you get above a 60% you are eligible for admission. If you are below a 60% score, then your application will not be reviewed for admission. Admissions ranks by prereq GPA, if there is a tie for admission then overall GPA will be used. I wish the TEAS was used for ranking, but unfortunately (fortunately for some, I'm sure) it is basically pass/fail.
