Polk State College Fall 2020 Hopefuls

Published

Hello ? I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the fall 2020 ADN nursing program at Polk State College. I know the application period isnt open until May, but I was wondering if anyone on here was planning to apply and what your points are? Best of luck to everyone!

I sent my transcripts from SPC in early May and they still haven't been received and evaluated. All my other school's transcripts I have requested to be sent to Polk have been received and evaluated though, weeks ago. All sent the same day. I asked a couple times and got the same answer: They will be evaluated once we receive them. SPC told me they electronically sent them out 2 days after I requested it. So, not sure the process, but I am assuming that they have them, but it takes them a while to evaluate and post.

My transcripts from other schools were sent to both HCC and Pasco and they were evaluated and posted days after I sent them. Polk may be just a little slower.

But you're not alone. I'm sure a lot of applicants are dealing with this.

Also, Pasco is not accepting nursing students this fall because of Covid, but HCC is. Hopefully Polk does!

Have you contacted the office again to make sure your transcripts are received? I think the deadline is tonight.

Does anyone know when school would start?

I think the 17th of next month.

When do applicants normally hear back from Polk?

Usually about 2 weeks. If you don’t get anything definitely call though. If you don’t respond to an acceptance you can lose your spot.

From the date you applied or from the date applications closed?

Long time lurker here:wavey:. This site has been so helpful to me the past few years. I figured I might as well commiserate with you guys during this awful wait. I applied to PHSC's Transition Program as well. Their deadline was also June 30th. Good luck everyone!

I think the review process will proceed fairly quickly, given the orientation is scheduled for July 17th.

I emailed and they said the second week of July. So would that be considered next week? LOL

Next week can't get here fast enough! I saw something different on Degree Audit. I never saw "AS PGM GPA" until just now. I'm thinking that's the program GPA they'll use. That tells me someone has at least started the review process.
