Are there any school nurses that are PNP's? If so, do you get paid more than a school nurse that just has a BSN?

i would get paid more for having the masters, but that's about it. The specialty would go unused in my district.

Same for me. If you are interested, you may want to look into school-based health centers. The district I subbed, for example, had one in the HS. It was next to the nurse's office and was where some students got immunizations, and other primary care. It was staffed by FNPs and PNPs.

We have a FNP who comes to the district 14 hrs a week to serve staff and students. She also has school responsibility for one middle and one high school, really she serves those buildings in a consult manner. She works opposite days from me and we take call for each other's buildings when working.

At my district, the pay difference would be like another $1,000.....for me, an RN with BSN, the pay would go up from $47,610 to $48,610....that is INSANE. I'd advise any PNP to go ELSEWHERE. You'd be making pennies compared to a clinic/hospital setting. Plus, you'd never pay off your loans!!
