PLU ELMSN 2017

Is anyone applying to the Pacific Lutheran University ELMSN program with me this year? There is a post last year about this program, so I figured I should start one for summer 2017!

Mine did not....I didn't realize there would be two different waitlist letters...did yours say something about a select waitlist?

I was reading other posts and it sounded like some people got a letter that said "select WAITLIST" and that they anticipate getting approval for a larger group and once they do, they will contact you with your admission status.

So according to that, it sounds like they have a few people that are basically going to get spots for sure off that list if they get approved

I don't mind! Mine was a very basic waitlist letter...It said that I will be notified by June 1st, and that the applicant pool was very competitive. It didn't say anything about budget approval and admitting more students, but I was told that during my interview...hope that helps! What did yours say?

I got a letter on Saturday saying I am on the waitlist - basically if they can get the budget approval for a bigger class then I will be admitted. Anyways I got accepted at Yale and will be attending so I am turning down my spot regardless. Best of luck everyone and enjoy PLU! :-)

Just curious seattle3573, did your waitlist mention the budget approval, or is that what you gathered from the interview? My waitlist letter was pretty basic...thank you!! :)

June 1st? I always thought the program start in late May to early June.

Oh I see. That is only a few days away.... It will be difficult for students who do not live in the Tacoma area and who currently has a job to whether they are accepted or not.

No just waitlist. But further up someone said they got on the select waitlist and that they were told about the expansion. So I thought I'd ask if everyone got that one or a different one. I think we will all find out soon since we all had to have our decision for waitlist in by the 10th. So I imagine since they already will be receiving denials from waitlisters and admitted people that they have more Spitsbergen open now to pull from the waitlist and will let us know

I have been a lurker as well!

I just wanted to add to the discussion because I too was put on the "Select Waitlist". It wasn't until reading these recents posts that I knew there were two waitlists. I also want to remain optimistic but to be honest I didn't interpret "select waitlist" to mean accepted if the expansion of the class size was approved. Should I be reading that differently? Does that mean we have an automatic spot if the expansion goes thru?

I have been tempted to email them for clarification. Part of the letter said something along the lines of "we will know in March/let you know in March" but it also stated that waitlisters will be informed by May 30th. Their letter is playing games with my heart! :p

read it again. I believe it read that since youre on a select list of a few people, once the budget gets passed, you will be notified that youre in. did you really read it differently? haha
